Hi chaps,

I just noticed my build sites are offline - www.ultima.gtr.info and www.ultima-canam.info

I've no idea how long they've been off for (any info in this respect appreciated), but need to move them to a new server to reinstate them. As I have to pay for the hosting (as well as renewing the URLs) and have done for the last 14 years :-o I'm wondering whether to do so or not.

So, if enough people find (or found) them useful I'll endeavour to reinstate them, otherwise I'll close the chapter.... (until maybe I consider build no.3 wink )

Invaluable info on there Stig always good to look back if you needed to check something out, even for a none builder like myself, please reinstate im sure the actual builders out there found them very useful.
Regards Russell
PS now on my 6th and final Ultima, my dream car has always been the beautiful rounded shape of the Sport with the detachable rear pilon wing, got one so this one is a keeper.

It was your build site that led me to PH all those years ago when it was just fields around here.

edit - looks like you still own the domains (despite the typo on the gtr one) - so all is not lost!

I've utilised your sites for the relevant information as and when applicable so thanks for that. Fortunately now almost finished but certain other builders would benefit from you reinstating them CJ.

So is it a coupe or a convertible? Targa would make sense being a 3rd chapter...

Your sites were a great resource when I first started researching and building during my first attempt.. pls do consider keeping them alive for others..

Also, for what it's worth, I run an IT firm and part of what we do is build and host sites.. so I would like to offer to host them for you (for free) if you are interested.. you can pm me for further details... smile

I remember reading your sites long before I got an ultima and ots partly your fault I have a can am over a GTR smile
If the cost if prohibitive we could have a whip around? or someone on here will bound to have server space etc.
You spend a lot of effort putting it together would be a shame to see it go as it mostly all still relevant.

I have to agree with what has been said so far.

Your two build sites were certainly an inspiration for me (I think I read every page...) and was also among the deciding factors to jump into ownership and a build. I still go back to them from time to time to check for info which is missing or not clearly explained in the build manual.

Please keep them alive if possible, certainly for the benefit of new owners and builders.

I'm as far away from being a "builder" as you can get but still often found myself browsing through the site for general background info, so a big thumbs-up from me.

I wouldn't have got this far through my build without your sites. So if possible please keep them alive so that I can finish my build!

Your sites are so valuable to me. You have one of the most documented sites I have even seen on the Ultima's.

I can't thank you enough for continuing to host your build sites. I must have read and re-read them a hundred times while saving up for my own build. Though it seems the data is out of date, a lot of it still applies, panel work for instance. I started my own build site because of yours, and my youtube build videos are also a nod. I would encourage you to keep hosting your site for current and future builders.

Stig, your sites are invaluable - you must keep them alive if at all possible! There are other sites (Huzi's Evo is a good one) but I still refer to both of yours many times eg today frown Like so many others, I'm sure i wouldn't have got this far without them

This is my short story:
I bought the car that was David Pulford and luckily I had a CD with the backup of his site.
With his consent, I published the story of his car in a free place in 10 minutes.

they were better than the book-manual and the cd.
many modifies in, and many ispirations for mine gtr

It's a shame to see them gone, I have been checking them constantly during my build and they were a big help.

Thanks all for the kind comments and support!

I'll get them reinstated, just need to find a home for them. The URLs are all fine, it's just the hosting that's changed (friend was hosting but sold his business, they remained 'overlooked' wink for ages , but I guess have finally been binned). My business has a server so can probably dump them on there (if not may take up the offer of hosting above).

May take a week or two as I now need to recover the content from backups!

Cheers all smile
