When my car was new I had no problems with water temp. But after 3 or so years its become an issue.
Over the weekend I attended a car event in central London and my fans failed completely. After a few cooling down stops I just about made it and then made it home yesterday when fortuntely I was largely moving.
Investigation revealed a molten blade fuse on the fan relay. The relay itself also failed. New relay and fuse and my fans are running noticeably faster so I wonder if a poor connection is what caused my cooling issues.
Charles Dunn tells me dirt on the blade fuse can cause this and that applying contact grease to all blade connectors is a solution.
Thought this might be helpful.
PS - any good products out there for the contact grease?
