Is anyone using R888 in 285/30 18 size and can find a dimension for me?
Trying to determine if they will fit a wheel/suspension/car I'm working on. I have the tyre diameter and carcass width but I don't know how much radius there is on the shoulder of the tyre. This could make all the difference as to where and how much they foul.

Many thanks
Steve

Hi Steve, this is a 285 R888 on a 10" rim. It is shaped very square compared to others. No significant radius at the shoulder. Perhaps this picture helps.

Thanks that is both a help and a concern.
It looks to be more a facet rather than a radius.
Could I impose on you again and ask for the horizontal and vertical dimensions of the triangle under your straight-edge?

Cheers

That's spot on and just what I needed.
I've just amended my cardboard template and at first glance it looks like it will clear. Just need to get the jack under the wishbone and check clearance through the full travel.
Many thanks for your time and effort.

Hello, I'm currently using the R888 on a 10 inch wide wheel. I did have to limit travel to prevent the tire from hitting the inside, but didn't have limit that much out.

Your car is different of ours, your have improved scrub radius and bigger ET.
Your front wheel steer on she's center.

They’re about the same price as Michelin’s nowadays aren’t they?

I have no useful comment here, other than applauding the comprehensive response from the community to what, to me, was an entirely random and difficult to answer question!

Michelin no longer available in the 18 inch Ultima sizes. Seems to now only be Pirelli that do both fronts and backs in the factory sizes (335/30ZR18 and 245/35ZR18). P Zero Rosso or P Zero Corsa available.

Just fitted the Corsas on mine last weekend. Too early/cold to tell how good they are.

Not cheap!

The corsas take a bit longer to warm up than the michelins, but grip well when there. Might be good to invest in a tyrepal to monitor pressures etc.
