Hi, very new here and interested in an Ultima, are there any owners on here that live in Canada? I moved to Canada a few months back and had to leave my toys in the UK as they could not be imported under the rules here. I have been reading the rules about building cars and it seems that it might not be possible to own an Ultima in Canada. I intend to contact the factory directly, but thought I would ask here first.

speak to CLIVEGTR... he moved to canada a while back and knows the in's and out's about whats possible.

Certainly from the conversations I've had with him my understanding is whilst hard its not impossible.

It's possible to import car parts into Canada but there are lots of hoops to pass through with Transport Canada to do it correctly.
I have been through the process and have successfully registered and licensed my GTR..

Careful talking to Clive! He will show you things that shouldn't be shown and result in years of your life weasted trying to replicate what he has done! Lol

There was at least 1 GTR registered in Ontario. It was quite a few years ago 2003 ish....

Interestingly a 2003 first registration would be eligible for entry in 2018, all the rules go out the window when you get to 15 years old! That for many is the easiest route.

There's lots of discussion on GT40s.com regarding Canadian kit or component vehicle importation.

I'm in Ottawa, Ontario and am building a GTR (taking me way too long). I sent you an email in case you want to talk.
