Ultima RS model is announced

Im 70 this year and just finishing my second build. I have enjoyed every minute of it. when I take it to shows or show it to somebody at my house my greatest pleasure is not "how much does it cost, or it must be really fast" My greatest pleasure is "wow that is really nicely put together look at the detail work" that makes my day. You're making me feel really old at 54 - I never completed my models as a child, one over squirt with the glue and it was all over!

I bet most Ultima builders used to make Airfix (other brands are available) models as a kid.

I made all sorts, then when a bit older, I chopped them up to make futuristic looking car models!

Where it all started for me good old Airfix and just got more and more expensive from there last thing was a motorbike.

I just put my deposit down on RS kit.

I've been building cars for just 8 years or so, but during this time I've done 2 engine swaps, worked on rotary engines and custom wiring harness, self tuned multiple ecus with success, so I felt there is nothing that should scare me anymore apart from body work as my welding skills are absolute ste.

Given the model has lot of improvements and finally body shape I like in addition to the performance, I just had to get one after thinking building one for over 10 years.

I've watched Mk3 turn into GTR and then EVO and now RS is out there and I'm soon too old to build one so that I can still race it.

Good choice IMO.

Regarding the bodywork, no welding is necessary if you follow the Factory build. If you go on a tangent with modifications, you may need some extra help.

I strongly recommend you choose the body pre-fit option done by the factory. This will probably save you countless hours fiddling, adjusting, etc to get everything to fit, not unless you like headaches and some nightmares
