Sump / Oil pan height
Discussion
Hi all,
I have searched the forum to try find a definitive answer on the correct sump / oil pan for an LS3 install without success (apologies in advance if I missed something). I am trying to establish what is the maximum height the sump can be to ensure it clears the cross member and does not protude below the chassis. I have read that the Corvette C6 sump at 4.85" deep is correct one but also found some conflicting information so hope it is an easy one for someone to clear up.
Thanks
Murray

GTO Sump off of a LS1 powered goat will also work. Had one on the self until about a year ago ,sold for scrap, which is all a wet sump system is worth on this car if you plan on doing anything more spirted than a Sunday drive on motorways. imo
Which sumps do you recommend? I've seen some dry sump kits on US Ebay that look reasonable.I had an ARE system on my first GTR we were able to data log all engine parameters during several track days an never saw a single incident of low oil pressure. The new GTR is not done yet, we have a Daily system installed. The Dailey system is a very clean application. The pump is actually mounted to the pan which eliminates the need for several of the external hoses and a oil pump mount. The Dailey system is more expensive. Lee
