Congrats! I have a similar RS but I opted for the digital system.

What color did you get?

With my wife we chose a red bodywork with golden wheels.
It is a family project with the father and my wife.
At the moment i am making a car 100% with factory precautions even though i have doubts about the transmission, but it seems a huge debate...

Excellent choice. You guys will have a ton of fun putting it together.

As far as the transmission goes I initially had similar concerns but my attitude now is this; if it breaks or doesn't suit my needs, I'll get a different one. Ultima have WAY more practical experience, I'm going to trust their judgement.

The most important decision smile - just make sure she agrees on the inevitable dépassement budgétaire

I've been super, super meticulous about everything. Construction has gone very well so far. Got mine July 14th, have been working alone at a fairly steady pace and I'm nearly done. At my current rate I should be finished just in time to store it for the winter. biggrin

Nice to hear, but how are you going to get the vehicle registred in France, or will it be with UK plates?

no, I created an import company, I chose a euro6 engine, I will undoubtedly make some modifications, in particular to the level of the exhaust to reduce noise and I will present it to the utac to have it validated.
I have the right to 5 attempts and if I do not succeed I should choose the solution of the English immatriculation.
In the meantime, I will have a garage registration which will allow me to circulate freely and legally in France with the vehicle.
Moreover in France by this system we do not pay co2 tax it saves 40 000 €

Hello jackT13, I have ordered a RS that is due to be shipped in December to North Carolina USA. I also ordered most of the options but without the digital dash and some of the carbon fiber. I plan to use a modified LS7 engine and a rebuilt 96.01 trans (there was a limit to the budget that I thought my wife would allow). Mine will be Kawasaki green with gold wheels.

Congratulations to you and great choice of color
It would be great if you're ok to share our assembly experiences. In reality, there is little information about assembly on the WEB outside of the ultima documentation.

Yo HardyBill! I have an RS and I'm in Ohio. Used to live in NC. Which part are you in?

IMO I doubt there are major differences when comparing the assembly of an older GTR, EVO or RS

Yes, we will be receiving our kits close to the same time so we can share our assembly questions and answers. I did question myself over the choice of color thinking it might be too bold but then again the RS is a bold look to begin with.

Hey TR3B, I live between Winston-Salem and Greensboro. Are you in assembly stage or have you completed your RS?

That's awesome. I used to live in Winston. Still in assembly stage. When I finish the RS my first planned trip is to Little Richards for lunch and maybe through Harpers II for a car wash. Okay, kidding on the second thing. smile

That said, I'm precariously close to being finished. If It's not running by December, I'm gonna be horribly disappointed in myself. I'll let you know when I'm headed that way, maybe I could stick my head in the door and check yours out!

A trip to Little Richards for lunch sounds excellent! If your trip is closer to mid to late summer we can meet there in our completed Ultima RS’s. If earlier then you are most welcome to stop in and see how far along I am progressing on my build.

My GTR is bright yellow. If I bought now it would be that green as it really suits the car.
