Planning to start putting in glass/windows soon. I know urethane is the prescribed 'modern' way of doing it but I'm kinda kicking around butyl and here's why;

Glass in new cars serves 3 primary functions (besides the obvious). 1. It's a backstop for air bags. 2. It's part of the structure and 3. helps keep passengers from being forcefully ejected. Urethane is much stronger than butyl and better suited to those needs. The Ultima obviously doesn't need the glass for any of those things. God forbid my car ever ends up upside down I actually WANT the glass and windows to be able to come out either by force or by foot. If they pop out on their own, all the better. Butyl being a weaker bond would make it so at the very least I could kick out the windshield rather than having to go through it.

My question is; is there any logical reason not to use butyl?
