Drivers - Now that blue skies have returned, I wonder if there are any of you near Henley-on-Thames area that would care to proudly show off their vehicle? I'll happily return the complement but you might find a mere 320bhp too slow going (though it managed to get me to the shops & back quite well). I've been up to Ted Marlow's Hinckley workshop & sat in a Spyder & a Sport, but never on the move. Here's hoping...

I'm in Tadley, so not too far from you. The car's currently in bits being rebuilt ready for the race season. Once it's all together, we can organise a meet up and drive somewhere.

It's a Sport Mk 4. By the time it hits the track again, it should be quite a quick one too

Could some of you Ultima owners post some build and running costs on the Readers Cars - then the rest of us could make some comparisons with our own cars. Mines a TVR Griffith 500.

Depends what you want to do with it. Mine was in a bit of a state when I bought it last year for £17k. Spent the winter rebuilding it (and spent about £20k on it). Running costs aren't too bad, except that I use 80 litres of fuel every race, and the tyres probably last about 400 miles )

Hi Rev. I've not done the final count yet, in case the wife sees it!!! But about £40k to build mine with the big brakes & wheels, a/c, factory interior & lots of other options. Did the engine myself for about £5k. As for running costs, insurance came in at £650 for 5k miles and I'm 34, value set upto £35k. Yes it likes lots of super-unleaded but who cares?

Rev - Not sure what the name of the camp site is, I've not been involved in the arrangements. All I know is, it is situated about 10km away from Le Mans. It'll give us a chance to use the cars! I'll let you know when the details are forwarded to me. We can chat nearer the time & maybe arrange a meet?

The owners club are staying at Chanteloup, which is about 15Km up the D301, NW of Le Mans, camping, as befits the sort of person who's spent all their money on the car!
