Because you know you want one, just do it so you can race next year.

Haha!!

Thinking something as a bit of fun on road and maybe a track day for first year, then once a few other things are sorted out I then go down the full works path.

Out of interest how would those old toyota's fair? Have always liked the looks of the early celica's too!

Trying to remember through the cider haze, you were saying that turbo'ed cars will not be competitive? If so a shame, as there is an interesting looking Saab 900 for sale in JB

Turbo's carry a big handicap, which I undersand was brought in to stop the series being dominated by 930 turbo's. I don't think the Saab would do that well it's front wheel drive. The old Toyota's do go well, go onto facebook anyonecanrace, and there are everal Toyota vidios from the series.
I think the Celica would do real well, a 1600 could race at around 850kg if you could get that low, and the early 1800 could race at 1000kg which you could mage quit cheap

SWMBO is gonna kill me ...

Time to start keeping an eye out.

BTW - what sort of details are needed to transfer ownership of a car in Malaysia, given that i am not a full time resident or have any visa status - guess some of the other guys have been through this.

Fancy an E30 BMW 323i ? Nice strong engine, solid shell (few bits of rust, but nothing major), nice and light when it's stripped out... wink

whistle

It's actually my daily driver, but was bought with a view to also using it for trackdays. But then I decided that the cost of getting it properly track ready would just be silly, so I've been gradually improving it and keeping it rocking along.

And it's not something I was necessarily looking to sell right now (although it's definitely got to go by May / June next year at the absolute latest), but if you're interested... wink

There are no residence requirment to own a car in Malaysia, although sometimes they will argue that there are, but if you argue back you can register, but you will need acontact address for the insurance, but you have that at D'May.
Nick rember ted may buy the B'mr back.

Berw, good stuff so no problem there.

Nick, should you still be looking to shift it closer to D Day i may well be interested in it as a runaround to keep at my gaff in JB (and perhaps for the odd hoon around Pasir Guidang!)
