Yes, upto 5 years+. I used this "Rule" on BMW a few years ago when a £400 alternator packed up after 3 years (And 3 weeks). They moaned but coughed up in the end.
I might still use it on the TV if I get around to it.

According to me the Panasonic G20 was the best telly ever made and I have one and so I recommend you should by it off me for £3000.

Forgot about this...we bought an all singing all dancing (at the time) Samsung HD flat screen TV about 3 years ago, around 18-24 months later the screen failed, apparently a common fault (google it there's loads on forums about it) but unfixable and out of warranty the TV was scrap and what did we end up with, a Panasonic! Which has been great.

Will never touch a Samsung TV again.

No brainer get yourself a Panasonic VT plasma. Samsung are ok but build quality and reliability is not in the same league as a Panny.

What about the new range of Samsungs launched in last couple of weeks? Anyone seen them?

I have a Samsung LCD tv that is around 8 years old, at the time it had great reviews but it is slowly dying (bit dramatic i know) but it will take ages to switch on (up to 30 minutes) and is a nightmare at reading my blu ray player which can take up to an hour from putting the disc in to watching the film! ( it was never an issue before the tv played up)

looking into this my tv did well to last 3 years and it affected just about every one out there, at first Samsung refused to acknowledge this but after a while they were repaired (some FOC, others had to pay) it seems that at some point my tv will never switch on again and the repair will be around £150

when that happens or when i can no long stand how long it takes to turn on (by the end of the year at the most i reckon) its a trip to JL for a nice Panasonic plasma. Im sure Samsung make great tvs but based on my experience and how hard people had to fight i will go elsewhere next time

I've had my Panny plasma for 8 years now. I've never had any problems with it whatsoever. When the next one gets purchased (some point this year), it'll definitely by another Panasonic.

Me too.

My 42" Panny Plasma is just over 5 years old now and is still perfect.
Never a sign of a problem.
Brilliant buy.
