Of course, the reviewers reckon that they could tell the difference between wired or wireless and that they preferred the "lively and open" wireless method even though it lost a "touch of focus and subtlety".

Muppets. I've posted this before...

"It has impressive detail and secure timing. Its presentation is relaxed, and listening is an easy-going experience.

The sound isn’t quite as clean as some of the more expensive products, but that’s just nitpicking.
It's a USB cable.

Wasn't aware of that. They were still pointing people in the direction of their snake oil in March.

Sorry, there was a question mark in me question.

My mobile organised the reviews in date order and stopped 2013, that is the last date they reviewed a cable? Still not getting past 2013 review dates on the desk top?

Sorry, yes same for me on desktop.

Audiophile USB cables must have peaked in 2013 biggrin

Quite fancy this Vertere though. It's been meticulously tested and listened with against the original master reference cable. Can't begin to imagine how good their reference cable is.

Looks like a few I have knocking around in me cable box (along with some SCARTS and nokia leads for phones that don't exist anymore......). Wonder if them shells are screwed on over a moulded plug?

Edit.
Oh lordy.

Should put an end to nosy neighbours, put them out on the patio when they are still partying a 2am and blow their house away.

From a review I just read:

"they extend to 32KHz so giving air and atmosphere to the sound, even though most adults can’t hear above 12KHz ........ It’s all about psychoacoustics and I find it fascinating."

I made it about halfway through the review.
If the cables take about 3 weeks of use to "bed in", do they get better or worse after more time?
If I was selling them, I would definitely give them a "service life" equating to about 2 years of typical use, after which "the quality starts to degrade", so you'd better replace them.

The Gobel Lacorde cables... under the cons:

"Will be considered as very expensive by many

Price: 1.2m USB or Ethernet – €4500"

I did read Dan's review. My trusty old bullsh*t meter had a broken needle before, but now the windings have completely burned out. I think I got it from Maplins in the 80's, perhaps they are available on Amazon now.

– 1 pcs. CH Precision L1 Preamp / price = 30.500 Euro
– 1 pcs. CH Precision D1 SACD & CD Drive with synchro option / price = 34.500 Euro
– 1 pcs. CH Precision C1 D/A Converter with ethernet and synchro option / price = 33.000 Euro
– 1 pcs. CH Precision T1 10MHz Clock Generator / price = 22.500 Euro
– 2 pcs. CH Precision X1 External Power Supply with two regulation boards / price = 18,500 Euro per piece
– 1 pcs. MELCO N1ZS Music Server / price = 8.000 Euro
– 1 pcs. Kronos Pro turntable / price = 38.000 USD
– 1 pcs. Kronos Stand / price = 7.000 USD
– 1 pcs. Kronos Scps 1 power supply / price = 13.500 USD
– 1 pcs. Kronos Reference Phono Preamp / price = 40.000 USD to 45.000 USD depending on options

cables are more expensive than the speakers?

Am I reading that correctly 287,000 for cables? and 175,000 for the speakers?

I really don't think these reviewers (or even the people that buy this kit) really listen to music any more. all they're doing is constantly evaluating their systems.

They spend 99% of their time wondering 'what if' - what if I bought this amp, what if I bought that cable etc.

I found myself going down that road a good few years back, and had to give myself a good kick up the arse to remind myself that I enjoy listening to music for the music, not to listen to the kit that's playing it.

Hence I started spending money on CDs instead.
