It spins, and you connect a (big) power amp which articulates the blades. Flat response down to DC. Mostly used, I believe in theme parks for haunted houses - you can blow doors open and so on.

I've just turned my central heating thermostat down by 0.5 deg. I'm having a listening session to see if it's affected my sound stage.
Should have a a subtle effect. The cooler air will be stiller, less mobile. This will reduce the harmonic interference - especially at asymmetric overtones. You’d notice this mostly on the more eclectic smooth jazz albums, think 1950’s. But only on pristine vinyl.

If you want to make your CDs pop, then you need to drop the temperature in your listening room to 15 degrees. Any colder and the DAC will start to oscillate.

Celcius, Fahrenheit or Kelvin?

Or is it a rotary dial turned half an angular degree?

Old-fashioned Fahrenheit. I suppose, having engrossed digital, I should now go Celcius.

I’m sure there is someone out there who looks at them and says “ I must have it! Damn the cost!”

The 5mtr length, with the special ICE-C19 plug (an absolute necessity of course), is £42,375. You can get cheaper ones for £47.60 tho:-

We joke but should take this seriously :
“. Each component of the Odin 2 range is meticulously crafted to ensure the most performance out of your system. The Odin 2 Mains Power cable opens up your system to a new level of performance with excellent depth by eliminating your system's noise floor. This is achieved through the combination of Odin 2's conductors and their construction.”

Last time I eliminated my system’s noise floor my hi fi fell into the room below - seriously damaging my improbability drive and flux capacitor.

To be honest the biggest bullsh*t on that website might be the burn in codswallop.

The rest is merely insanely overpriced but does at least do an actual job. The cables conduct at least. Yes, at many thousands of pounds more than you can pick up perfectly good cable at richer sounds.

But the burn in thing is literally 100% snake oil.

Agree on the burn-in issue, but at least it doesn't cost money.

The audiophile market is spit into 2 parts.
1. The rich, who want to impress and know nothing. They are driven by brand and are happy to pay for it.
2. The enthusiast, who is driven by brand
but buys second hand from the above. They rarely know anything, but what they do is learned from publications and peers. If they don't understand electronics, they cannot judge.
This is fertile ground for people selling snake oil.

There's a third part of the industry, and that's flogging magazines and clickbait websites.
Also at the top end, the installation service can be significant money.

I love you they charge £37k for the cable and then want to charge an additional £3 for “Contact Enhancer”.

If it’s a gel, then I’m sure the schmuck who’s bought the cable can supply their own when they open the box wink
