I'm very tempted by one of these, particularly the M8s.

Not that I would at all but I assume that unscrupulous thieving gits could watch live TV on them? Of course that's naughty and I would never dream of doing such a thing.
Actually watching the stream (of anything) isn't naughty. Strictly speaking.

Well it isn't illegal anyway.

Of course having the box would mean you could receive live TV which would probably mean you'd still need a TV license. possibly.
Thanks, I definitely won't be getting an M8s then.

I haven't noticed this update, although I rarely use the Amazon home screen.

It all started back in Feb for me. All streams stopped working and Genesis development halted. Installed SALTS and it started working again.
Can you explain how I go about installing SALTS please? I am a technotard! I'm using Kodi on a Raspberry Pi.

Cheers :-)

Search YouTube for "Fusion Addon Installer", you'll find SALTS in "Featured Addons"

Hahaha I was struggling with exactly this. I followed an online guide and it works perfectly (as perfect as streams can be expected to be) Turks uk thingy is good too. A LOT of stonking tv shows that I forgot about.

I'm only interested in Films, TV and cartoons. I wish I was into sport as there does seem to be a LOT out there.

So far I've used SALTS, Phoenix and Turk.

If it's films and TV you're after then you need to get Exodus and Specto.

I got my box last week (M8S) and installed Exodus, as I was struggling with the pre-loaded Phoenix and Genesis - most of the streams struggle to load or if they do, they buffer really badly, even with Exodus. Is that because I have quite a slow internet connection (4mb), or just the streams are crap - or some other reason like I don't have the latest version of KODI, I'm just using the one already loaded onto the box when it arrived, or the fact that the box came pre-loaded with loads of apps and ad-ons, most of which don't seem to work? Would I benefit from a faster broadband, fibre?

I'm in a similar position and downloaded SALTS which seems to work ok.

Could be filtering software your ISP has enabled, have you tried turning it off?

Cheers - I'm on Sky Broadband, I have no idea if there's any filtering, I'm not aware of any websites being blocked or restrictions from from my varied search inputs. What would it filter and how would I actually check? Apologies, I'm not a very techie person.

If you're on Sky then you need to disable Broadband shield if it's enabled as this will stop certain add ons from working properly, just log into your account to disable it. It might not solve your problems but it's worth doing anyway.

You say you get 4mb internet speed, is that what you're supposed to get from your package or what you actually get? I'm on Sky up to 10mb but usually get around 7-8mb.

Cheers. Broadband Shield is probably active, I'll get that sorted and see if it improves. And the speed is from a speedcheck I did at the weekend. We are looking to upgrade to fibre, as it's always been a bit slow at times.

Have you tried changing channels on the router?

Cheers Karona and tedmus, I will look into that.

UK Turks is pretty good for sport.

For movies or TV shows I have generally been using Phoenix or Genesis which have been ok for what I want really, although Genesis has been playing up a bit recently. Reading through this thread I now know why!

I'm on Sky fibre and very, very rarely get buffering. Can stream 1080p fine.

I'd look at turning off any parental controls and upgrading to fibre myself. Is your box connected to the internet using an ethernet cable too?

If using ethernet, ensure you've gone into settings on the M8S and changed it to Ethernet. Otherwise you're still on wifi as it comes set to wifi.

Using Ethernet makes a big difference on my one.
