Have you tried changing channels on the router?
That's going above my head I'm afraid, how would i do that?
Assuming you're using wireless then this should help.

As twig says though, better to connect via ethernet cable if you can.

see if it's necessary first, by using something like "inssider" to see which channels are busiest.

Cheers for all the advice. Yep, I have connected the box via ethernet and it's set up on that basis.

I need to look at hardwiring mine rather than wireless but it's a proper faff running wires all over the place.

^^THIS, 100%.

Don't be tempted into buying a cheaper brand. been there, done that. Devolo is the answer. Just brilliant.

Will these do the same job? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Devolo-Powerline-Starter-E...

Do these things work when plugged into an extension lead?

If you've only got 1 socket, where do you plug the actual equipment into? The devolo thru plugs solve that problem, and there's a socket on the Ethernet plug.
You aren't supposed to do this but they work perfectly well if you plug them into a multi-socket extension lead.

They also do one with a wireless extender one as well........ I've used to hardwire the upstairs office, and also give decent wireless upstairs in the bedrooms, whilst the downstairs virgin router/super hub is hardwired for Minix (Kodi) Box, netgear cctv security system, blue ray player and smart TV..... everything else is wireless

This is all greek to me. I currently have kodi on a amazon stick I bought off ebay back in feb. I have always used exodus for series's etc and never had a issue. 2 weeks ago the remote died so just downloaded a app to my phone and use that now saves hasstle of a new remote lol

Last week trying to watch GOT and a few other things it just wont connect to things its strange. I was looking to upgrade as i am on v15.1 but dont want to feck anything up. I am ok at tech things but if I screw it up the mrs will kill me frown

Any advise as I am tempted to get a second cheap alternative like the box to tinker with for the bedroom before I touch the main stick in the living room plugged in the tv (next to the virgin router if that helps)

If i am honest. Get over to the Kodi forums, have a read.
I expect the method you are viewing tv shows/films is illegal via illegal streams

There are plenty of great devices which Kodi can be installed on and work flawlessly.
LibreElec is new to the kodi flavours but has a great user base and support forum with nightly releases for Raspberry pi's

http://forum.kodi.tv/

More and more people are cutting corners and paying over the odds for kodi to be fudged on Amazon sticks and then not know how to fix it when it breaks.

You say you're good at tech stuff so should be ok.

But if you're after a quick and simple way to make sure you've got access to all the good stuff then I'd suggest putting Kodi onto your laptop (if you have one) and then googling the following:

SEO Michael Exodus
SEO Michael Specto
SEO Michael SALTS

You should have a basic but good build then that will allow you to watch most TV and films while you tinker with your Firestick. If your laptop has a HDMI port then that'll be handy! Or you can Chromecast Kodi.

I dont have a laptop, I swear by my desktop but I am sure my mum has a old notebook (say old its a year old) she doesnt use so Ill pop have a look and "borrow" that and try that while I tinker with the kodi stick.

Was speaking with a collegue in work about it today and he seems really clued up about it all and has given me some advise / offer to help so I will see how I get on.

Thank you for the advise I will report back

Doesn’t make a very good week for freeloaders really does it? Good new for everyone else though.

So el-cheapo Chinese Android TV boxes might catch fire, along with a lot of other stuff you may have at home i.e. don't ever use your tumble dryer. But you can use a decent, tested to EU/GB standards, device to run Kodi like the Amazon Fire or Nvidia Shield to name but a few, No news there then,

And so an addons developer gets shut down, the development will just move elsewhere, and they'll be other developers and addons. I'm not condoning piracy but since the dawn of media there have been ways to copy and distribute it, every door that gets closed, somebody works out how to open another one.
