A couple of months in with my 55B6 and overall I love it, but I do have one slight niggle which I wonder if others have noticed.

When watching certain program types such as dramas (the wife's currently watching Jamestown in HD via SkyQ) where the camera is moving a lot, some of the outdoor scenes in particular look like the actors are being filmed on a fake set or the background is superimposed when they obviously aren't. I can't quite put my finger on what element of the image is creating the effect but its almost as though the background is out of kilter with the foreground and is too blurred/lacking motion compared to the sharp in-focus actors etc in the foreground, which makes them stand out unnaturally from their surroundings and makes the image feel a bit 3D.

Anyone else get similar and or any ideas on settings to eradicate it? I'm currently using settings based around the AVForums Youtube video (https://youtu.be/HXwFi3E1K0g) but have tried a few other pre-sets like Cinema etc without it making a noticable difference.

Turn Trumotion OFF.

But make sure you set the sliders to 0 before you do it.

Excellent thanks, just tried that and turning it down then off does indeed seem to do the trick! I did turn True Motion back on to "smooth" against the AVForum settings because I noticed juddering on panning shots watching sport etc with it switched off. Is there anything else I can change to help with that without getting this effect?

I've just turned TruMotion back on but with only de-judder enabled (to 3 or 4), leaving de-blur at zero. That seems to retain the more natural look going back over a couple of the more noticable scenes in Jamestown, but watching a bit of Planet Earth with some panning shots the judder is also not really noticable so I'll give that a go.

Quick question, thought this was as good a place as any to ask given the number of LG OLED people seem to have bought in this thread! Recently purchased an LG oled65e6v, it was one of the last I could find available and was on display in one of the Richer Sounds stores. As it was on display it was stand mounted in the shop but I'm wall mounting it at home. When I remove the stand it appears to me that there should be a blanker plate or cover that fills the opening where the stand was attached when wall mounting. This cover was missing from the box and speaking to Richer Sounds they are saying that there isn't a cover, its not supplied with one. Just wondered if anyone has this TV from new and would know for sure? I'm pretty sure there should be a cover/blanking plate as it looks odd with out it.

Cheers
Graham

If wall mounting how do you know it looks 'odd'?

Still mid wall mounting, hence the channelled out wall however you can see where the stand would have fitted and I assume should be a blanking plate to fill the gap. Just wondered if anyone has this TV and can confirm?

Forgot the E series had the 'soundbar' fitted to the bottom.

Does it rotate out 90 degrees to form part of the wall mount?

No, think the G series does that, the sound bar on the E stays in the same position.

I have that exact model wall mounted & no it does not have a blanking plate, hence looks the same as yours.

Even to me who I would say has slight OCD tendencies I am not bothered by it either!

Ok thanks, perhaps my OCD is worse than I previously thought smile I checked the manual online, it implies there should be something. Odd.

Lol well as I'm a bloke of a certain age I don't look at instructions & binned all the packaging as soon as I'd dug out the tv & remote, as you show there looks like I chucked away the extra part!

As I said though the tv looks super smart wall mounted without it non the less.

Hello

My friend is moving house on Friday and wants to surprise her husband with a new tv. She has a budget of up to £1500, what would you suggest?

Thanks

Right or wrong, I am waiting for Friday. If a B7 is still £1,500-ish (or lower) then I will buy one.

This thread has completely ruined my plans for a 49" Samsung Q7 QLED or 50" Sony XE9005

As long as stock holds up, there’s no harm in waiting. I expect they’ll be a bit thin on the ground soon, but I have no direct knowledge.

I very much doubt you'll see any significant price drops on OLEDs for BF if the last few years are a guide.

Manufacturers will play with the mid/bottom range sets and leave the top end sets where they are... and the margins/distribution on the top end sets are much lower, so less room for retailers to move themselves.
