So we're looking to shortly upgrade our living room TV and had earmarked the 55" LG B6. Now that the B7 has launched naturally we're considering that, but it seems to be coming on for twice the price for the new model. Around £1600 for the B6 vs £2999 for the B7.

Is this at all justified?

Reviews are starting to come through, but no.

The differences are pretty minor, just a little brighter and better screen uniformity. If you want the best then you need a '7' series but the differences are small. 7 series does NOT support 3D (E6/G6 only), the 6 series does not (yet) support HLG (but does have HDR10, dolby vision).

I dare say the 6 series won't be available much longer.

Which means the B7 should come down in price soon.

You can also get a 4k blue ray free with the b7 worth almost £400. I think that's going to swing it for me.

What did you decide to go with in the end?

If you're looking at a B7 for £3000 I'd seriously consider tracking down an E6 - space permitting, you'd probably be looking at a 65" screen too.

B6 is now £1440 at Crampton & Moore.

E6 was £1800 from them.
