After having to call every month to see if i can get something fixed on our broadband the price increase is the final straw (oh and the internet dropping totally 5 times in 2 days)

I'm on the phone to cancel the broadband as they keep saying "nothings wrong". Out of 10 months and 10 calls ive had 1 advisor who has helped. The rest have been as good as condom in a nuns purse ffs!
Well they have removed the price increase for the broadband till the end of my contract and given me a months line rental free due to my issues. Lets hope the new router that arrives fixes the issues if not then i shall leave
Yet again last week internet issues. Paying for 58mbps fibre - getting 3mbps.

If the mrs watches something recorded no one else can use the internet etc its pathetic.

All fine coming to my house apparently but then it goes to pot. Only thing I have is the sky router. 3 hours on the phone they separate my signals to a high and low frequency. Seems to have helped but sadly still poor service from sky who frankly dont care so will be leaving once contract is up for the internet.
Sounds like you are actually receiving the quoted BB speed to your hub (checkable by dialing into the routers status page and looking under the maintenance- show statistics tab) but actually have a 2.4/5Ghz WiFi problem. Whilst sky should help you with this you'll have the same problem with every provider

I cancelled my sky. 20 years I had been with them. We have Netflix, Amazon, hayu ( for a month or so)
My sky q gets switched off on Saturday. Is it worth signing up for now TV ?

Like I say cancelled nearly a month ago and not heard a thing from them. 20 year but I’m happy and feel slight relief we are going. It was getting stupid in price, we had sky legacy for the F1 and multi room that didn’t get used and I was paying over £100 a month inc broadband. Got the broadband down to. £26.

They have never put the customer first. It increases without fail every year and so glad it’s going. Just hope the wife sees it the way I do.

But if you have paid for any digital movies on sky you lose them ….

Your point is right though.
Not as convenient, but you can use the Sky Store App to watch them after you leave.

What devices can I use to watch Sky Store movies and TV shows?

If you have Sky TV, you can watch Sky Store movies and TV shows on your compatible Sky box

You can also watch Buy & Keep movies and TV shows on your:
- PC/Mac
- Android/iOS using the Sky Store app
- NOW TV and Roku
- LG Smart TV (WebOS1 or above)

You can also watch Sky Store content on your Chromecast, simply select the Chromecast icon on the Sky Store apps or skystore.com to view your content on the big screen.

To download the free Sky Store App, go to https://skystore.com/myaccount/sky-store-apps

We were on £120.99 per month for Fibre & lots of channels.

45 minutes on the phone got it down to £80 with upgrade to Sky Q and adding Netflix on an 18 month contract.

Used Virgin media mph ultimate £78pcm to haggle against.

Evening all

My parents are moving house later this month, and will be switching from Virgin to Sky as a result.

I’ve priced up what a like for like would look like, with Sky Q, Sky and bt sports, super fast broadband and unlimited calls and it comes in at £110 a month.

Does anyone have any referral codes that might help them reduce that a little? I’ve got a referral code myself that will provide them and me with a £75 MasterCard, but would prefer to knock something off their bill.

Thanks

Alex

August im done
Sky are done when the older folk are gone. It’s literally only around for the older people now, as no millennials that I know of subscribe to this garbage.
To some extent I agree with this. We largely keep Sky on as Mrs F finds it an easy way of navigating round the stuff, and watches and rewatches all sorts of stuff rest of us can't stand, eg Midsomer Christie in Paradise Escape to under the Hammer. Lots of things that would be enjoyed, e.g. Bosch, but just refuses to watch, too complicated, even though with the Amazon app it's now 'on Sky' sort of.

Back in may I got a ‘all you deals are being carried over for another 12 months, you don’t have to do anything’.
I’ve now received an email saying your contract is ending and it will now be a zillion pounds a month.
Guess I haven’t avoided the phone call after all. If they want so much as a pound more than what I’m paying now, it’s being cancelled. I only keep it so the wife can watch all the Housewives of wherever crap in another room.

My tv/phoneline/broadband contract is up next month, are there any deals available? (giving up on being stuck in a phone queue)

Thanks

We are the same 18month up in August. Jumping from £78 to £140.

So that will be a no!

Interested in what others are getting deals for so i can challenge them.

I think sky need to move to being the hub as they seem to be. Having Netflix, Amazon, Netflix, discovery plus and Spotify through sky q makes it easy for the masses.

I watch very little on actual tv, but I don’t think I could cope explaining to the wife that she can use all the above apps through the Samsung tv itself. All she does now is use the sky remote.

Although I do find it annoying I pay for box sets, went to watch family guy and it then took me to Disney plus and I don’t have an account. I had assumed it only showed you stuff on the other platforms you actually had subscriptions to.

Disney+ is worth it IMO, but you could easily sub for a month or two and then cancel once you’ve watched everything you want to.

Sky have done well to have all these apps centralised in one place and make them easy to find and use. The voice control is perfect for this. Simple saying ‘Prime’ or ‘Netflix’ into the remote and the app launches. Brilliant, especially for less tech savvy people.

If you have Netflix it’s worth swapping it to sky you save an extra few quid.

So, for reference.

Everything inc Netflix, UHD, F1 and Multiroom, except Kids.
Plus
Superfast Broadband (and i can throw a stone & hit the cab, so 70mb for us)

£90.

At £2 increase and fixed for another 18months.

The out of contract price was £140, and pre negotiations price was around £120.

Happy with that.

Just wondering how you managed to get this deal? I'm in a similar position to VEX and the best I can get is closer to £80.

Did this include broadband?
