This is what I hate about Sky, been with them 15 plus years, want to stay with my current set up , not interested in Sky Q but want to get a better broadband deal but also want to be paying a lot less than £140 a month

Ok, after handing in my cancellation at the start of the month, i've just received a text from Sky asking me to contact them with a view to coming back.

I have Entertainment, Kids, Box Sets, Sports and Cinema - all in HD which should be £84 per month eek

I've been offered (and taken) the following -

Entertainment - £15
Kids - £1
Box Sets - £1
Sports and Cinema - £19
HD - £1
Sports HD - £2

Total per month - £39 on a 12 month contract.

They won't budge on the contract being extended to 18 months so i can get Sky Q and Sky Q dept won't budge on the contract being shortened to 12 months.

As i said earlier, i'm happy paying the £12 per month for multi room but the install costs are preposterous online - £199 for the main box. So i contacted them to see what they'd do for a 2TB box with multiroom and one mini box.

The chat advisor got the main box install down to £65 but the mini box was £50!!! Couldn't get lower on online chat so called Sky Q and spoke to a lovely girl (nice Sky customer services do exist!!!) and got the install cost down to £80 all in which i've agreed to.

It's not free install. It's not £20 but for the time it'll take to do, it's a fair cost.

So, are sky still doing deals? Yup.

Best re-negotiation I've seen. You've done extremely well. £1 cheaper than a new customer!

I can do that lot for £40.

Called me up and did this for me too (minus the Sky Q, didn't ask about that). £39pm, happy with that.

To be fair to Sky, i didn't have to negotiate - that was their first offer. In previous years i've had to actually get to day 31 and cancel for a "decent" offer but not this year.

I don't particularly enjoy the rigmarole of cancelling then haggling on a yearly basis but if this is the game that has to be played, so be it.

Just thought I would add another confirmation that deals do exist for existing customers. I was expecting to have to cancel and sign up in my wife's name (Thanks to 'Prohibiting' on here for providing info on this) however I went through Sky Chat ready to cancel unless I got a deal I was happy with. I agreed on the below which is about £17 less than what I pay now but with the addition of Sky Q and multiscreen.

Sky Q 2tb Box
Sky Q Mini Box
Sky Entertainment
Kids
Multiscreen
Sky Fibre Unlimited
£60.99 per month (TV = £27, Fibre = £33.99)
£30 one off installation charge

Not a bad price, particularly for Q.

As a new customer I can do the above bundle for £52/month but £65 setup one-off cost.

Entertainment + Kids + Multiscreen + Fibre Unlimited + Line Rental with Q 2TB and a mini.

For the interest of other people here, I work in generating new sales- that's why I can offer the best deals (cheaper than online as well wink). For existing customers looking to re-negotiate, I fall short and you will need to go through to Customer Retentions etc.

Jings, just noticed this thread, my total Sky bill a month is over £100! eek

I'll need to check and see what's going on after seeing some of the prices on here.
