Has anyone seen any decent deals for Sky Stream? I think I've got it down to £49 so far (entertainment, sports and another puck) but always looking for a lower price. Their love chat was useless and the guy at the other end just slagged off Virgin Media and offered nothing below their online price..

I’ve just switched to stream this week from Q (house move + switched to wife’s name!) and was not able to get better than the ‘new customer’ offers online. my new house doesn’t have a dish, and not sure i’m allowed one (conservation area) so fancied giving stream a go

I had some great discounts (helped by people on this thread originally) and i spoke to house move team/ cancellations team, and they said they don’t have the ability to discount stream.

I’m now paying £83 a month for stream- entertainment/ sports/ movies/ base netflix/ add skipping/ 65mb broadband (think it was £58 without broadband)

Anyone got any experience with Sky Stream?
All I seem to have read is poor reviews when I researched it.

I don't think you can get better than the new customer deals these days, so I've put my notice in and will just sign up again and get some extra cashback too from topcashback.

Only thing I'm a little worried about is the fact that you can only seem to get Sky Stream now which is an inferior product to Sky Q from what I understand. For example I record the F1 most weekends and watch them in the afternoon/evening, does Sky Stream let you watch from the beginning at any point in time? Or do you have to wait until the broadcast is finished and uploaded to their servers?

Q is still available, just tucked away at the bottom of the ordering pages and has fewer offers than Stream.

F1 is supposed to be available to watch in 'chase play' (watch while still broadcasting) and on demand later, but they've had a few issues getting the content online in a timely manner. Not all technical, but some are contractual - rights issues around the difference between chase play and on demand, amazingly..

I had a call from the win back team and they offered sky stream for 9 months with netflix and the entertainment package for £14.98

I’m only 3 days into having stream, so dont have much of a review yet! I’ll hopefully answer the f1 questions this weekend, as we generally don’t get a chance to watch the full race in real time, and usually wait until daughter is in bed to catch up on the race….. but sometimes we do get to start maybe an hour or so delayed to the race so will report back if you can just watch from the start on day 30/60mins delay

we also don’t watch a huge amount of tv, and barring sport, we don’t watch much ‘live’. so the the user interface is fine, very familiar coming from sky Q. there is still the normal EPG that you can scroll through and pick your channel. maybe be our internet (65mb) but there’s maybe 2/3seconds until the channel comes on, but not really an issue. exactly the same link up to netflix/ amazon prime/ disney + as other sky systems.

so far, so good. but because we don’t watch huge amounts of tv, we will be fine with any small niggles. I do think if they made a sky Q/ stream box, it would be almost perfect.

Thanks. I've given Virgin notice on the TV package today (annoyingly need their broadband as it's the only fibre in my area)

I've had it since October last year.
It's great. We have never missed a programme so the lack of recording is neither here nor there.
Picture quality is very good.
I did lose my grandfather rights to the F1 when swapping from HD+ but have convinced myself I don't miss it as I'm certainly not paying for it.
I have had to unplug the box maybe 3 times when it's frozen and the 1st remote I got was useless (a known fault)
I wouldn't swap back.

Good to know. Can you fast forward through the ads or is it like Sky Go where you are forced to watch some?

Depends if you’ve paid for ad skipping I think. £5 a month ISTR.

yes, I can fast forward, but as mentioned it’s £5 per month to skip ads.

Are the sky stream pucks Wi-Fi only?

Nope. They have an Ethernet port. I used mine plugged in, as the WiFi in my place is a bit naff if you’re more than 20 feet from the router.

Ah good. I want to make the jump to enable UHD on the secondary TVs but that would have been a deal breaker.

Just need to wait for cost parity with my Q package but it’s currently double as they won’t carry my discounts across

All the Sky equipment has been sent back (a much easier process than I anticipated), contract expired on 2nd October.

Officially Sky free, more than £60 richer each month and still seem to be watching exactly the same shows. I don't think I'm going to miss it at all.

My sky package is endin in December and I’m very much of the same thought. Sat down last night and worked out that 90% of what I watch is app based so I can do that on my TVs or with a firestick.
Their broadband is getting binned too.

18 years and god knows how much money but I think it’s about time.

Sky can’t compete with the streaming services for content anymore.
I’ll miss the F1 but paying for all of sky sports and only watching F1 has always niggled.

Just cancelled after 21 years, we are moving to a new property that can't have a dish so wanted to move across to Sky Stream. But they wanted to charge me an upfront £40 and £9 more a month for a lesser service, galling when the website offered it with no upfront, and £10 less than I currently pay. Bye bye Sky.
