I'm not a huge music buff, nor massively into gadgets, however I do like to have the radio on in the bathroom. At the moment, I've just got one of those cheapo shower radios. I'm in the process of having the bathroom re-worked and was considering a Bluetooth ceiling speaker kit. Does anyone out in PistonHeads land run one of these systems? Ok, good, bad or just steer well clear?

Fitted some in our latest development, more as a selling point for young couples than anything else. OK, I am an audio buff but the sound quality is pretty pants, akin to listening to a cheap shower radio I'd imagine.

They do the job however and connect well.

If you spent the same amount as one of those kits costs on a decent portable Bluetooth speaker you would get much better sound quality, be able to use it in other parts of the house/garden/garage/on holiday, and not end up with a hole in your ceiling when it breaks.

I'm slightly biased (check my profile link) but bluetooth ceiling speaker systems are very popular, great quality and work well.

There are plenty of options but we've tested most and collated the best. We rarely get any issues to be honest. The odd amplifier fault here and panel fault there but compared to sales volume the issues rate is very low (and of course gets resolved promptly!)

You get what you pay for, about £220 gets you a complete system from a reputable manufacturer with good back up and warranty. If you buy a cheapo one from eBay you'll get cheap sound and no backup if it were to go wrong.

Don't be put off by the previous comment, most systems feature a standard cut out size so ceiling speakers can be swapped etc and if you go for a system with a remote amplifier like the Bluetooth Express then the ceiling speaker itself is highly unlikely to ever get damaged and leave a hole in your ceiling....

Yep good stocks on almost everything. If it's marked in stock on the website then it's usually next day delivery or at most 1 extra day.

There are a few systems out of stock at the minute due to no UK stock but they will be marked as out of stock online.
