After a chat online with Sky, and with them offering a lowly discount of circa £30 a month off a £122/month bill, I've cancelled.

What happens now ? do they have another go at keeping you ? or is it back to freeview on 9th August.

Just been through this with them, was similar. Their first offer is not worth it. You should see the following :

(1) Week 1 : 50% appears on the "we hate goodbyes" on your online account
(2) Week 2 : 60% appears on account
(3) Week 3 : 60% still there
(4) Week 4 : Drops back to 50%

I phoned up and secured the 60% off, there was another offer with Sky Q but as I don't have 4k UHD sets its kind of pointless at the moment though I may revisit as we are due to refresh our TVs in next year. In meantime I'm now got Variety, sports, movies and 2xMultiroom for £62pcm

Hope this helps and good luck

They sent me an email offering a package for peanuts plus £50 but I still didn't want it.

thanks for this.

The 50% has appeared online as you've listed, I'll see what comes in at week 2.

In the meantime I've had a look at the broadband options and Sky are offering fibre for £20 incl. line rental a month compared to my standard unlimited broadband that is currently 28.99 incl line rental. you also get the new sky hub. A saving of £8.99/month.

I've ordered this tonight then received an email to call them immediately to "check some details" I feel a sales pitch coming on.

I've just started this annual dance with them. Last year I got 50% off the whole TV package so I was paying £40 per month with no contract. I sacked off the movies after a couple of months and then the sports when the Prem finished back in May. I'm now down to just under £20 per month for the multi-channel ste-o-rama, due to go back up to £38 at the end of the month.

I've just given 31 days's notice so I'm hoping there will be a 60% offer just in time for the football restarting and then the whole dance can begin again.

Hi, how long did it take to receive the email? I've just cancelled my TV, Phone line, Broadband, I normally just pay the bill, until this time and for the first time I've cancelled, panics just set in, I've just seen the 50% off but looking for more.

I don't really need Sky till the Prem starts up again towards the end of August, so I'll let mine lapse if needs be. I'm holding out for the 60% and £100 credit deal this year.

I was on live chat with them a few minutes ago. Agreed 60% off the £80 full tv package for a year, £25 credit and a rolling contract. Then right at the end the guy said he could only do 50% on a rolling contract and it would be a 12 month deal if I wanted the 60% (which is not in fact a full 60% as they do not discount the £6 HD sports tariff).

I've left it for now. I'm thinking I should have been able to get a bigger credit really, too.

I cancelled a few weeks ago but have had diddyly squatt from them - the Missus is now starting to miss the convenience of the planner and the ability to record mundance TV such as Poldark.

I pay between 70 and 80 p/month, 34.50 of which is Sky original and multi room, we only watch the basic terrestrial channels and netflix which is separate. If I ditch these components is there a box you can get to do all the recording? As that's all we use the sky for at present.

After 18 years with Sky, I ditched the normal service at Xmas and moved over to Smart NOW TV.

I don't miss the service I had before and it's £60 a month cheaper for what I have now.

I have just started doing the dance.

Was offered a drop from £70 to £49 (TV, phone and BB), on an 18mth term with £10 admin fee.

Asked them to progress the cancellation, will see if anything more alluring comes through...

We're now into week 2 and I still only have the "we hate goodbyes" 50% offer, where did you access the 60% in week 2 ? I've checked the online account and also the account via the sky box.

I still haven't sorted the fibre broadband offer yet due to other commitments, I'll maybe add the 60% into the conversation during this call and see what comes of it.

We were paying around £90 a month including sky fibre. Cancelled three months ago, we still have fibre and pay £10 a month so that we can pause/record the freeview channels. All in we pay £33 now.

I get a letter a week offering various deals to go back to them. We spend 7 quid on netflix and have a amazon fire stick.

It's 720 quid year saving. We have no interest in going back. We are watching less crap and kids are even doing things like "playing together".

much better all around.

In the process of this myself. After a painful year of Virgin I have spent the last 4 years with Sky, paying around the £55 per month mark for full mashings (fibre, full HD TV, Sky Go extra) they've whacked it up to £110 ish. Told them to poke it, original offer over the phone worked out at £70, stuck out for better. Got cut off 2 weeks ago and offer to come back last weekend had gone up to £90.

Paid for a now TV box (pretty crap) and PAYG broadband from them too. Piggy backing onto a mates Sky via the PS4 now so ready to grind it out for as long as it takes.

No calls for almost 2 weeks now.

Was in my offers online. Basically the 50% upped to 60%. I'd say to them you'd accept the 60% offer when you call

Found it was easier to get on the chat rather than get them on the phone. Managed to achieve the 60% discount and went ahead with that. Nearly a £36 saving per month. Thanks for the intel.
