What am I missing? That projector is £3500 https://www.projectorpoint.co.uk/panasonic-pt-rz57...

Edited to add: you should really get yourself over to AVForums. Someone there will give you some proper advice on how to spend £10k - Bose and that projector will be poor value IMHO.

As a business machine, It is also a computer screen resolution rather than a video screen resolution. I honestly don’t know what the visual difference will display like but just be aware.

For the money I would also consider the JVC, Epsom, Optoma, etal Cinema or on my desk ranges which offer very good pseudo 4K image generation.

I would also triple check that model number and spec. If it isn’t on Projector Point then it needs questioning. They are one of my go to sources for projector spec and details.

If it is all good and ultimately you are happy then go with it, we just don’t want you misled or disappointed.

I appreciate that and following some of the responses I have visited a couple of AV/home automation companies in the area, interesting how opinions and advice varies, and I'm now awaiting details and quotes, will report back.

Mention Bose - there's a far greater chance that someone over there has used or listened to it.

After nearly 25 years selling AV equipment, the general opinion on BOSE was it was a triumph of marketing over performance amongst the guys at the sharp end, it looks pretty but you could always get twice the performance for half the price.

In the trade we always had a useful acronym

B---- Buy
O----Other
S----Sound
E----Equipment.

Just been through the user manual online, and typically for BOSE absolutely no specs at all,
and it has no support for for the object based surround formats (Dolby Atmos or DTS-X)

£3799 is far too much for for what's on offer....

Haha, yes that’s what we say from time to time still smile

Bose has no support (can’t resolve) any sound format better than pro-logic!
5.1 of any kind at all? Nope.
It’s stuck in the 80’s tech wise.

They pay for DD and DTS decoding, so they can read the discs only......
They then re-mix the audio in the sub, dispose of vast tracts of the content, so all you hear is a sort of ‘Bose-Logic’ ish sort of sound. Better than nothing, if you know nothing and don’t like music.

Btw, Bose can’t really release any specification, as there isn’t any!
No reviews really either, as they won’t offer their kit to ANY published body. They also aggressively challenge any published review of independently sourced kit.

All underhand / sharp practice and deception from BOSE.
