Just added these to my system

Rega Planar RP10 turntable c/w Apheta 2 cartridge
Dynavector P75 mk IV phono stage
Naim Nait XS2 Amp
Naim CD5 si CD player

Existing components are Denon AVR 2313 with a suite of B & W speakers
CM5 S2’s at the front
CM1 S2 rears
CM Centre S2
ASW10CM S2 sub

The RP10 is a class act, the ceramic platter is a thing of beauty.

Have to say I’m amazed by the Dynavector. When the dealer opened it up to do the dip switches for the moving coil cartridge, there’s next to nothing inside. How it does what it does is magical.

The XS2 has a funky AVR bypass mode which enables switching between HiFi ‘fronts only’ and full 5.1 through the Denon. All without moving cables about.

Soundwise, it all comes together to give a clean, bright and punchy delivery, with exquisite detail. That’s exactly what I was looking for.

Dealer told me to leave the amp and phono on permanently, so i’ll give that a try.

its like the big brother to mine

My Music Room:

Rega P5 with Denon DL304
Rega Brio
Rega Fono MC
Rega Apollo CD
Cambridge CXN v2 Streamer
Rega RS7 speakers
MK SB8 Sub

All with Rega cables and speaker cable
HiFi furniture: Ikea with a chuffing big slab of granite marble stuck on top
Kettle plugs by Rega and Homebase
Wall paint from Crown and a splash of Dulux
Art and photos on walls: Fuji XP2/iphone/Nikon DSLR and kids painting projects
Furballs on rug: Bernie and Oscar
Sofa: Laura Ashley via Gumtree
Slightly weird and unpleasant stain on cushion - my wife's cousin, don't ask it's a long and embarrassing story
Strange smell - my own

Pictures to follow. I am busy photoshopping out the music covers as I have terrible taste in music.

The RP10 is an awesome turntable. I’m using mine “naked” at the moment, I really like how it looks. Dust is not a big issue as there’s not much surface area! Shall be keeping the stylus protector on when not in use though, I’d hate to damage it.

My brother and I both tried the Aria and Dynavector phono stages and there wasn’t a great deal of difference. My brother even borrowed the Aria to try at home and said he could hear a slight hum from the transformer. In the end, we both bought a Dynavector. They were, however, both noticeably better than the Naim Stageline.

The Aria does seem very susceptible to mains noise from other sources - I had an annoying hum that turned out to be proximity to my headphone amp, which has now been banished to the bottom shelf...

Some astounding kit on here. My humble home system is
Rega RP1 TT
Marantz PM6005 amp
Rega (old) Apollo cd
Denon DNP 720AE fm/wifi tuner
Rega RS1 speakers

Garage has an old Denon fm tuner I got for a tenner off ebay
Sony cd player (M54 I think) which I already owned
Sony TAFE370 amp (£30 ebay)
Celestion DL4 speakers for a tenner via local FB free ads.

How do you find the Denon 720 ? I had one (but connected over ethernet rather than wifi) it was ok but as a Network Player it was incredibly slow and tedious to access music from a network drive ? To be fair there is/ was acres of stored music but it was just unuseable for myself.
Those DL4's are a great speaker dependant on room size. Had a pair a few years ago

Working from home today.

Got Frank Turner blazing away with some acoustic numbers. I have to say the Rega P5 is a rather fine turntable when paired with a MC cartridge ( Denon in this case).

I am quite surprised at the degree of noticeable improvement with vinyl. Voices and separation of instruments on vinyl compared to CD or streaming - no contest. On vinyl he may as well be in my room with me. It's bloody brilliant.

What DAC and streamer do you use?

I would have expected that to sound better than a turntable setup.

I've been through several turntables / cartridges etc. over the years, and I can't remember when last I thought vinyl sounded better.

Yeah. The Cambridge sounds good, but the Rega P5 and DL304 ( a pretty high end cartridge they dont make anymore ) definitely beats it on vocals and instrument separation. Imaging is better. It has a more "3D" nature where the speakers "disappear" and sound just floats in the room - the Cambridge can't really do that to the same degree. I am surprised and really rather pleased - the TT and Cart was an ebay impulse buy !

I did have to get a new dedicated Rega MC phono stage - maybe that is a contributing factor?

Morning techiedave,
The denon 720 I have only ever used wifi connected and radio only. For that purpose it is fine. not great, needs a mains disconnect/reboot occasionally. But where I live we have very little radio choice (No AM, FM just rad 1,2,3,4, BBC rad Scotland, BBC nan Gael and a local station Cuiillin FM). DAB is also restricted to a few of the national BBC stations. So for me it allows the classic FM/classic rock radio stations etc. in the lounge and, for the price, does me fine.

Richard.

Cheers, both. It’s a very capable setup and faithfully represents anything I throw at it.
