Second system is finished...digital only to compliment the analogue only in the lounge

Naim uniti Atom and a quiet pc i7 based machine running as a headless roon core. Tidal hi-if with hardware hard wired into Ethernet. iPad Pro as remote. 50m of Structural cabling is by chord to 4 termination points for placement options for Eclipse Td508mk3

Lounge system....

^^ Hugely so! This part of the house is an irregular shape, is open to further rooms and also has quite abit of glass. The room is a huge factor in the sound.

In my mind it does work and that’s got a lot to do with the speakers. The eclipse speakers are not very fussy when it comes to placement and their speed and accuracy works well with the music I tend to listen to. Also, you can really focus their sound to where you are sitting in the room to cut down the room’s effect. I know the eclipse range is not everybodies cup of tea but play to their strengths and they are magically little speakers.

Lovely modern space but unfortunately that doesn’t always sit well with music playback.

It doesn’t sound like it’s causing you too much concern and I bet 99% of the iPod and MP3 generation would be amazed at the sound (or probably just don’t care) but there are lots of excellent and reasonably priced solutions out there so solve any future issues such as Dirac with rew software, DSP products and top-notch stuff from Lyngdorf.

My room is sparsely decorated and I have some small issues (mainly in the low bass) but I can live with it for now but I’m looking as DSP for the near future. Had great results using it with subwoofers in the past.

My point is that there are solutions for having a stylish space and a great sound that weren’t available even 10years ago.

He is running Roon, which has decent Room Correction and super powerful EQ built in.

After moving my Harbeths on I needed a speaker to tide me over while waiting for some SHL5+ Harbeths to turn up at the right price and right colour, so I picked up a pair of Celestion Ditton 15's.

I also bought from Gumtree a cheap Marantz PM4200 because it was local and £40.
Raspberry Pi - Meridian Explorer 2 Dac and Roon and I have to say I am still laughing at just how 'nice' it sounds.
I bought it back in Feb, total cost is what? £250? And I am having a hard time justifying spending the best part of £3,500 on the Harbeths and the Yamaha amp I wanted.
So much so I'm just not going to bother.

All hidden away behind the sofa, I don't want to see any kit anymore....

You have a really good set up there mate I love the way you have mixed up all the different components of your system.
I agree looks an interesting arrangement.

What I am VERY impressed with and perhaps a little envious of is the bendy light by the turntable!
This person knows what they are doing. How many times have i wished for one late at night trying to read record labels or looking for tracks on the deck.

I think I described mine but never photographed it. Here you go:
ETA
Mark Levinson 39 cd player and much else (it's now doing pre-amp and DAC duty, too)
NAD S200 Silverline power amp
Zingali Overture.2S speakers
JPS biwired speaker cables, balanced interconnect and power leads
Recently added a Cocktail Audio X12 box with all the CDs ripped as lossless. It also acts as the digital radio source

All rather odd as a combination, but it plays my music beautifully.

Cyrus 3i amp, XPA stereo power amp and power supply running to KEF R500 speakers through QED cables. Linn Axis turntable and Amazon Input/Spotify for source material.

Kef 2005.1 eggs with a REL subwoofer and Sony STR-DN1080 amplifier, Sony TV (had it ages, can't remember the model) and Sony Blu-Ray player for any AV.

Not the most expensive but makes TV/films/music sound great. Can't hide the Aldi candle in there, my wife seems to love the smell of that one! This is in it's usual state and not tarted up for a pic. I try and keep the area relatively tidy and not allow loads of records to build up on the side.

Now that is a lovely set up. I bet you feel no urge to change anything once it's rocking away.

I'm looking at modding my NAP180 with Avondale amp modules this year, then my HiCap again with Avondale mods. Perhaps the 102 pre will get played with eventually, as there are some great mods out there.
