I'm looking for a decent quality bluetooth/wireless speaker that I can connect to my iPhone or mac in order to play music, ideally I'd like to be able to move it to the garden or around the house and 'rock a party'.

A pre request is sound quality it must not sound like a tin can and needs to have good bass. Currently I transport some HK soundstocks around that's a pain but sound quality is good.

Has anyone tried these?

Ideally I'd like it to have have rechargeable batteries, so could run from a charge or plugged in to a power source.

We have had an audio pro T9 for a couple of years and very pleased with it. Really fills the room with sound for its size and quite punchy!

I have this Sony one https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/wireless-speake...

The bass is fantastic for a small thing. Loud volume too. Bound to be loads of similar/better ones around but this one has been superb for BBQs etc

I'm impressed by the sound quality from the UE Boom 2 for such a small device. You can gang several of them up or get a bigger version, the MegaBoom, for a bit more grunt. Waterproof too which is nice.

They now do one with Alexa built in so can stream from Amazon/Spotify if you' have wifi in the garden without needing to go via a phone

We've got one of these downstairs in our garden room. Not battery powered (although they do a battery powered version) but sound quality is fantastic, about as far from a tin can as it's possible to get. Lights are a bit gimmicky, but easily turned off.

We've had a Bose Soundlink II for four years. Very happy with it. It's no longer current, but the Soundlink III is supposed to be even better.

I recently bought two of the MegaBooms and paired them in stereo, and the result is really good for a pair of waterproof, battery-powered, portable speakers that I can take anywhere.

Using one of them in mono is a bit better than my Bose Soundlink Mini, but it is the stereo that really works well. Quite good value at £250 for the pair, but I'm not sure I'd pay the full price which is double that.
