Looking for a new TV, probably about 55" and withing 600 quid ideally.

Have just moved house and starting to get everything sorted but in need of a better and slightly bigger tv than that what I have now.

Ive not bought one for several years so not really in the know on what's best for that budget.

Purely looking on Amazon, I found the
Samsung UE55NU7100 55-Inch which seems to have decent reviews, and is only £505!

Seems cheap as chips but does anyone know anything about it, or know of a decent alternative?

Just seen that Samsung is on at 535 on richer sounds but comes with a 6 year warranty!

It's an outgoing model but a series newer than mine that I'm very happy with.

Stocked by a few places including John Lewis & Currys so have a look instore but I wouldn't buy a telly at the moment until the Black Friday prices hit.

That's positive, the 6 year warranty is appealing with richer sounds.

Was going to wait for black Friday but it's often an anticlimax or just deals on the stuff they can't shift anyway so I'm in 2 minds really.

Not sure I can wait and just watch the current 42inch, first world problems and all that!!

Richer sounds will give you the difference back if they lower the price on black Friday too. I've signed up to their vip club to see if that makes any difference.

We are in a similar position to you OP having just recently moved house. We bought an LG 55UK6400PLF from Richer Sounds based on advice on this forum. It was £579 delivered.

We are very happy with it smile

How are you getting on OP? I'm tempted to get the same TV.

Yes I'm really pleased with it to be honest.

Still playing with the settings to try to get the most out of it, but the TV itself looks decent mounted on the wall, brilliant warranty, Currys were only offering 12 months, and isn't too OTT in terms of size, plus for the price, bargain smile

LG55UK6300... £479 (claimed 50% off) in Amazon black Friday sale.

Can't find much on it. Any good?

I went to richer sounds to have a look at them in person, I explained that it would be primarily used for xbox they swayed me towards an LG unit because that has a higher response rate over the Samsung nu7100. He said to get the same spec in Samsung I'd need to jump to the nu8000 range. They didn't have the LG in Stock or the 8000 but they did have the 7100 in.

I went to another store which did have a couple in and they gave the same advice.

I bought one and set it up, red dead redemption looks so much better on it than the 5 year old HD that's in the lounge.

6 year guarantee and if it drops in price on black Friday they will give me the difference.

All relative though isn't it, if you had gone in looking for that LG, I'm sure they would've upsold you something slightly better.

Touch wood I'm pleased with the Samsung and don't do gaming so it's spot on for me smile

Possibly but they had the nu7100 in Stock and I could have walked out with it, the LG and the nu8000 weren't in so they let me walk out without spending any money. Its all relative though as there are so many different sets available I bet its pretty impossible to buy a bad one.
