Wireless speaker Devialet vs Naim Mu-So
Discussion
Looking for an all in 1 wireless speaker package and have down-selected these two. Anyone have any experience of either of them? More so from a users perspective and how easy they are to use..
The Devialet would be the Phantom Reactor 600
The Naim is their second generation Mu-so system.
Thanks

Naim Mu-So gen 2 is an epic speaker. It last form any source you can imagine, the app is improved and the sound really fills a large room if needed. Good after sales support that Devialet may not offer and coastwise it is NOT silly money. Buy one and enjoy!
Thanks, hoping to listen to the Naim over the weekend. Speaking to a few dealers, that stock both, it seems Devialet is a speaker for those that want to show off and want really high volume, however suggest that the additional cost care package is needed, as it they go wrong, they are not fixable.. which seems odd..G
I own some naim kit from further up the product range but when I heard the muso I was amazed, it's an awesome sounding bit of kit for a one box solution. I found it can go loud and stay controlled and musical at the same time, the design touches like the volume disk on the top are just a joy to use. If I needed a one box solution I wouldn't hesitate.

Good to know, thanks. I am trying to figure out whether the Devialet speakers are just overpriced for what they are, so I can focus on the Naim. Many seem to find the Naim has better balance of sound overall, but Devialet do look great..G
Both are very good but in my opinion both serve slightly different markets.
For showie, loud active (as in you see it do it’s stuff) the Devialet is a show stopper and very good with big sound.
The Naim is a lot more understated, in looks and possibly the upfront-ness of the sound. But it does sound stunning and just sits there doing its thing without the ‘look at me’ looks.
I would be happy with either but I would also select one or other depending on the look and environment it is going into.

Does it have to be one box solution ? I stated life with the original muso which I loved but got unlucky with and had to return it twice with a distorted driver issue . I swapped to Sonos as I much prefer proper stereo which you simply don’t get with one box but can with 2 boxes .
The KEF LSX looks like a nice package , plus you have Sonos play5 or Bule Sound .
The reactor is a mono speaker , the naim is stereo but a very narrow sound stage .
If it HAS to be one box I do t think you will be disappointed with the Naim

I’ve a pair of Devialet silver Phantoms, and the way that I’d describe them is “OK”. Decent sound, very nice looking, but the connection through their dongle things and WiFi is far from perfect, and I have to fanny around with the settings far too often. The Devialet would be the Phantom Reactor 600

The volume has a life of its own, too, taking many seconds to respond when it does.
Just to close this one off, I actually purchased the Mu-so at the weekend. It is a superb piece of kit, very understated, however beatifically engineered..
The dealer suggested I run it for circa 50 hours, but it just seems to get better with use, whether you are connecting it via Tidal, Airplay or even Bluetooth, it just works seamlessly. Local dealer was offering £100 off before the end of the month, that was a bonus to seal the deal.
Thanks all for the feedback..

Great choice. The Gen 2 has HDMI connection also I believe - have you tried it as a TV sound output device? Just curious as I know the Gen 1 had Optical In only and had weird problems with the volume setting needing to be so high via Optical from the TV that when you switched back to music it "blew the bloody doors off!"

Not tried it with the TV, to be honest, I have taken down all my surround sound stuff, just using TV's own speakers and using the Mu-so purely for music pleasure. It just keeps getting better as it runs in and the detail is wonderful.. When playing my music pretty loud, which I do quite often, when alone in the house, you get no distortion. It is incredible piece of kit..

The Muso 2 is very good at TV sound output, it is not a soundbar but worth a try. When playing my music pretty loud, which I do quite often, when alone in the house, you get no distortion. It is incredible piece of kit..
