Atmos what speakers?
Discussion
Hi All
My amp can do Atmos and there is a lot more content out there with it. So the easy option would be up-firing speakers but I can fit in-ceiling ones. Two questions:
Is it worth doing all the extra work for the in-ceiling setup?
Can I get away with 2 speakers or is 4 the way to go?
Thanks for any input.

Simple answers
Yes it is worth the hassel if you get the positioning right.
2 or 4 will depend on your room size and if you have space behind you seating posiiton for the second pair.
Atmos is the one effect where you want focused sound not defused, so using in-ceiling speakers that have an anglento the whole speaker basket is ideal to drive sound towards the listening position. Most only offer pivotable tweeters.
OSD and GoldenEar are ones we tend to use for this applocation.
Timbre is less of an issue with effects channels.
