Season Finale Event - 1 October
Discussion
I (and my kids for sure) wished we hadn't done the 3 hour round trip. Got there at midday Sunday and there was only 30ish cars there. More like a regional meet than an end-of-season TVRCC event. And to add insult to injury, there was a prosecco wagon but nowhere to get a coffee! (unless you wanted to go into the building and spend a lot of money to drink a small coffee out of a swanky bone-china cup). Sorry to moan but not impressed, TVRCC...

I don' think that's entirely fair - I'm pretty sure the coffee in the cafe was £1, there must have been closer to 100 than 30 cars there around midday, the weather just about held out (it could have been much worse) and the tour we had around Wentworth House was excellent (and only a 5'er each).ETA... We we stayed for a few hours and enjoyed ourselves.

Maybe not, but I'm going on the bill at the end of the day. We paid to go in, had a coffee and cake and it cost us £27AndyT350 said:

Quite possibly, but they were leaving consistently whilst we were there, which was a shame.AndyT350 said:

The weather reports on Saturday / early Sunday were proclaiming some pretty awful weather (which as you say, didn't come to pass in the main), which I assume resulted in the turnout.AndyT350 said:

I saw the leaflets and it quoted 3 times that price, which is a shame as we would've taken the kids around at £5 each. "you can't please all the people all the time"
I guess first time at a new venue and there will be teething troubles, I'm sure that had the weather, and more importantly, the forecast been better many more would have gone? Have to admit I am one of the probable many who got up Sunday morning and "bottled it" coz it was peeing down here.
Firstly, thanks to all who came along and made it a good day. The attendance was a lower than I would have hoped, but the poor weather throughout September, poor forecast, and poor weather on the day was certainly a key factor. We had been expecting a coffee van outside so that was disappointing, but otherwise not a bad venue for a 'gathering' type of event I thought.
Number of cars? Just 107 TVRs and 56 in other cars (presumably dry TVR owners). Certainly more than 30 at dinner time, BTW!
At the end of the day, these events succeed or fail by the number of folks willing to travel and join in.
