What does your wife know,,,, pfffttt, biggrin
Please don’t say owt, she’s a bit formidable biglaugh

I noticed some owners on these vids are clearly being very careful and I don’t blame them. For beginners especially you need very wide tracks to afford you some wiggle room and Cadwell is rather unforgiving so the nerves must have been overwhelming.

Race tracks can be very intimidating for the beginner especially one that’s quite technical and car placement so critical.
If everyone came home with a car rather than lots of parts of a car I’d say it was a huge success.
I agree with a post further up, open pit is ok when there’s lots of space but for a beginner somewhat terrifying and really best left as sessions as the track experience is so different from driver to driver,,, Racing cars usually have hours to cool down in between sessions so I can’t see many doing more laps in open pit anyway as the car will be going off every single lap unless fully prepared for such abuse.
Road pads must be useless within a lap or two!

Terribly disappointing seeing the Tam destroyed and must have had a few thinking its better to be safe than sorry so took it easy and for the owner of that lovely car you have my sympathies and condolences.

Thoroughly enjoyable day, what a great circuit and who organised that weather! Hope you guys didn`t mind an ex TVR owner joining in with his 1958 Fairthorpe Electron Minor, only 1300cc so giving away a dollop on the straights but it was great fun throwing it around even though i think i`ve melted my front brake pads
Many thanks to all who came up for a chat about the car, as always TVR owners are a friendly bunch, my brother took a few pics

It's a well worn phrase, but "slow in, fast out" is what I need to achieve and frequently fail to do.

I am relatively quick on track days, as Phazed mentioned above, yet I still cannot manage to master that maxim to my satisfaction.

All too often I am arriving into corners too fast, and am then hanging onto the car around the corner in order keep on the track on the way out, which compromises my exit speed.
If I braked harder and possibly slightly earlier, I could get into the corner in better control and then power out from the apex.
The car would be in no danger of leaving the track and i would be 10-20 mph faster out of the corner and onto the next straight.
.
Hi Anthony
I folllowed you for a couple of laps ; maybe you can study your lines ...and no tuition fees payabe !
Also features a grey Elise later on .
A bit of a shaky camera on the straights , but does the job ...

Was a very good day helped by the great weather. Thx to TVRCC and all the drivers for making it a fun day.

have fun
Matt
Very instructive. Ignore the warm up lap, but the second lap I was too fast into Mansfield and so locked up on braking.
After I let you past, your lines were good and you were driving out of the corners better than I did. Informative. Thanks

Au contraire, you were the model of rear-view observance when I caught up with you - the shimmy to the right was perfectly timed laugh

Got any details of Brands? I could be persuaded. How about Snetts in June?

Cheers Alistair - I remember my Cerb so fondly, tracked it round Cadwell numerous times as well. Wasn’t the best tool for the job & certainly challenging- but always fun. Being a lifelong TVR nut, but no longer in ownership, days like Friday are such a treat, being on track & around them being driven hard is something still so special.

Thanks to you guys & the club for keeping it all going - top work.

That’s a hell of a nice looking car. Respect yes m
Indeed it was. I love Cadwell (and the car has an attraction to it to!) and great to be back.
Thanks for the nice comment about the car too

Anytime.
The comments on here and the cars in action are truly memorable for all. Cadwell is such a fine place to be around great people and cars on a sunny day. I’ve been there quite a bit spannering and cycling the track,,,, Ive stood on some of those corners a long time trying to memorise the buggers, i’m a legend round there in my mind biggrin

I almost forget why I own such a car,,, this on here is what it’s actually about.
Each car is so special and personal to the owner yet they also want to test it and themselves, or just enjoy the roar in relative safety, what struck me from the videos going through the pits was the sound of Tvr coming past the cafe, last time I was there it was the faint buzz of Mazda’s... Tvr roar is entirely different and far more exciting.

Roll on more of it.
I think you should all congratulate yourselves on keeping this going and making it such a good event, seeing a bunch of Tvr in the holding area is really something in this day and age.
Let alone that wonderful Fairthorpe, it’s a privilege to be on there with that car, and the owners name on here, Kartman24
I salute you and your car choices sir.

Wow those old pictures are fantastic. I did pop over to admire your car, I had never seen one before. I had no idea it was only 1300cc, you were flying round!

Cirks you’ve owned your car since 1996 ?
I love your costing page biggrin

I sometimes get wrapped up in the hear and now, it’s good to know people keep these cars for such a long time and 20 odd years later your still donning a helmet and having fun....
I’ve got time to join in yet I reckon.
