56 seems a high expectation for a single marque early season trackday?
Is it really, condsidering there are only 6,600 on the road (and 4,200 SORNed).
It is quite possible to get almost 10% of all the TVRs in the UK turning up at a car show, why not 1% at a track day?

I truly believe the problem is the location - it is just too remote for quite a number of people I know.
A group of us meet regularly for track days, and anywhere in the southern half of the country we can get between 4 and 10 of us attending.
This is the first time in six years I have managed to get any of my TVR friends to attend Cadwell Park, and then only one, and he has already made a sharp intake of breath and a slight grumble at it being over 200 miles each way from leafy Surrey.

If we want it to be a success in future I do think we need to look at other, more accessible, locations.

I have started sending out invites to other car makes so if you want to bring a TVR don't wait too long to pay your deposit.

I have 7 or 8 friends that attend this event and wouldn’t dream of travelling another 400 miles on top of what they already travel to drive a less challenging circuit. Difficult to get the balance right..

Early advertising, more far reaching advertising is what’s needed.

Lots of effort went into advertising the Rockingham event last year and it was a success, don’t know why the same effort can’t go into Cadwell - a drivers circuit worth travelling too.

Well it might be useful to see which regions people have come from in previous years to know where supporters for track activity are based. But we need to focus on the interesting circuits as well. However I doubt Cadwell is the most convenient for many (although personally I travel a long way 'cos it's such an epic track); maybe somewhere more central may be more popular next time?
Anyway, that's for the future; now we just have to make sure the club doesn't pull the plug for the sake of a few ££ which could come from our subs or directly from us. And yes, woefully late promotion on the web and in the mag hasn't helped.
I may bring a Caterham too!

For the avoidance of doubt, Cadwell is my favourite track anywhere. I find it really flows and I love 14 corners and several changes in elevation in 2.1 miles.

Hi Kev - We only get allocated a date for the track day in the late October through to December period, for the following year; so we can't announce it any earlier. I think it was announced last November or December giving six months notice of the event. And there is limited space in the magazine to publish the adverts. This year we tried to get a date when another event was on the same weekend (Thrills in The Hills) to make it worth traveling to the Peak/Lincolnshire area.

Re other circuits, compared to Cadwell: Snetterton 200 is an extra £2400 more expensive to hire for the day; Bedford Autodrome an extra £3600 (can't do Fridays); Snetterton 300 an extra £4800; Brands Indy an extra £7200; Donny an extra £16800 (for noisy day) and Brands GP an extra £23700.

Cadwell is the best circuit for road cars in the UK in my opinion.

From memory, it’s often tricky to fill, and has been subsided by inviting other car marques - like Westfield for example.

We’ll only be a dozen or do so short by Easter, so hopefully by the time the event comes round, should be there or thereabouts 👍🏼

Thank you for giving us the data - very revealing.
Rather shoots my idea in the foot.

I had no idea Snetterton was so much more expensive.

Brands GP - no surprise, the only track day i have ever done there was as a guest of a client in about 1994.
One of our borrowed Caterhams hit a Ferrari F50.......says it all.

I do love Brands Indie, shame it's so expensive.

Let's hope they don't build any pit buildings. The price will rocket biggrin

Happy to travel to Cadwell. Happy to travel to Anglesey. Don't see distance as an issue.

I would like to do a Spa double header in the next couple of years. Then Gaudix again.

I am going to start a new thread about a tour trip to Spa in 2020 to gauge interest.

If anyone is looking at this thread thinking 'ooh-er my car is too precious' then I'll happily share mine, the price being the cost of another entry for my Mazda MX-5 NA which we can alternate with the TVR, swap and share throughout the day so as to get another car on the list. PM for details.

And yes, I would absolutely be up for Spa!

There is talk of the TVRCC.NL doing a TVR Zolder meeting in 2020. Guessing it would be in the June on a Friday. It's a great event if it goes ahead and it's on the way to Spa.

They should confirm it now - they’ll easily pick up an extra 4 between now & then 😎
