Morning. Firstly please forgive my ignorance regarding engine parts
I’ve been plagued with oil leaks and had the rocker covers and sump have been re sealed.
While giving the engine a clean this morning came across a weeping hose. I’ve tried to attach a photo, although it’s not very clear. It’s the hose behind the vacuum unit? It’s a very short rubber hose.
The oil seems to be leaking from the top joint and pooling onto the top of the engine.
My question is can I safely take the hose off and replace it without having to do anything else? Am I expecting any oil to come gushing out? It seems pretty high up.
Also is it best to replace it with the exact same rubber type hose or is there a better alternative?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I can't think of any oil related hoses in that area.
A better picture and description may help such as what diameter and where does it go too.

Have you got power steering? If so that leak is probably from the oil return hose into the power steering pump. That hose has a u-bend which is a frequent source of leaks. Just keep an eye on the pas reservoir oil level.

Thanks for your replies.
Yes I do have power steering and it makes sense that the leak I can see is from that. I thought it was oil as I can definitely see oil pooling under the hose but ithe oil must be coming from somewhere else.
I will try to take a better picture, which may hopefully identify where the oil is coming from?
After I moved the car yesterday I did have two drips on the drive, one oil and the other was a more orange colour. I'm assuming this is probably from the power steering?
Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated.
