Well I’m going to need my walking boots.

Just tried to get a taxi into Louth for a curry and no taxis available till 7.00.

Totally dry here thank goodness. Let’s hope it stays that way for tomorrow.

It’s strange, in this light my TVR I looks somewhat like a Porsche…..

Do you have rain tyres or just your semi slicks?

Must be proper rapid with those tyres on it yes

You better give everyone half a lap start if it’s dry biggrin

Have a great time chaps. thumbup

1st time on Pistonheads in the TVR Section and both Peter and Alun still active, which is great to see.

Peter, I hope you have put the baffled sump on the car running 888s on the Boxster?

Fantastic day yesterday and we were so fortunate the weather stayed so good!

The most confusing thing for me though was overtaking a blue Chimaera, then looking in my mirror to pull across and seeing a Tuscan!

I couldn’t work out where it had come from and took me a few seconds to realise it was a Chimaera with tuscan front end!

Yes, after all that trepidation looking at weather forecasts during the week it remained dry. Strangely, 10 minutes after leaving the circuit it absolutely pissed down with rain! Good that it held off.

A great day as usual. good to meet new people, good friends and see so many great cars on the track.

Strangely, I really couldn’t get into it in the morning. Having done the track three or four times before over about 15 years my memory of the circuit seem to be very poor! smile The afternoon was a different matter and my little Boxster was flying, (comparatively ha ha). After giving up my 400 BHP TVR, the 300 little horses in the Porsche were definitely slower down the straights.
The Toyo R888’s I had fitted to the car were absolutely brilliant and they are roadholding seems second to none!

That aside, a brilliant day.

Car of the day for me.

Numberplate of the day.

4 1/2 hours to get home for me and at the moment I don’t want to drive another car for a few days!

I popped across for a bit because I'm fairly local to Cadwell, and I really enjoyed watching and listening to the cars going around the track. Everyone was really friendly to me who I saw, and it was lovely because I'd gone there as Billy no mates!

It was also great to catch up and chat with Simon(C1RVY) after so many years. We used to chat at the East Midlands meets when we both had Cerbs. smile

I liked this car too. cool

Hi Graham. No baffled sump. Totally standard car which survived!

Not sure if I will track it again though. Hearing that little engine singing away at 7000 rpm made me feel sorry for it.

Hello Graham. You can’t get rid of me that easily wink

Glad everyone had a safe day.
I’d never trust myself around Cadwell.
Watching Superbikes round there told me there is very little room for error.
Great track but not a place I’d go with a load of Tvr nutters rofl
That’s a joke lads.

More pictures please. Looks like a great day was had thumbup

Peter a once top line cyclist I know in his 60’s has just started racing mini Moto bikes around cart tracks and loves it.
I asked how many times he’s fallen off and he nonchalantly claimed 4 times this session biggrin
Says he gets lapped but loves it for the physical experience and training, he’s about 5’2” mind rofl
You gotta admire that level of youthful thinking.
Graham sounds like something you’d do hehe

Just an acknowledgment to my friend Anthony, (QBee) in his old 4.6 Turbo chim that went like the wind.

So much for these old chimaeras that don’t handle as well as the later cars!

Also to Trev Who stuck on my tail for several laps again, an acknowledgment to how will a Chim can handle when well set up.

Loads of your cars out there went like the clappers, particularly impressed by the Lotti. Great handling cars.

I know there was great driving from so many guys out there but memory already is making things fade wink

I took a few pics(if anyone wants me to take them down just let me know). My M4 looked massive in comparison to the TVRs!

Despite Alun's comments above, nobody crashed, only one car that I am aware of broke (clutch), and that was the only red flag.
It's a great circuit, and as soon as you remember where it goes next it really flows well. You would enjoy it Alun.

I spent quite a few sessions neck and neck with Tuscan R666, whose owner knew how to get the best out of the car. My li'l old 4.6 Turbo Chimaera seemed to find it's way past a certain Boxster RS60, but it's owner wasn't having one of his best days and didn't fancy remodelling the barriers by mistake.

The blue race car and C1RVY, the Exige 380, seemed to me to be the fastest out there, but the other Lotuses were very quick too, as were quite a few TVRs. Good manners all day, all cars well driven, even the novices. How on earth the dark green Cerbera got through the noise test will remain the mystery, unless the noise limit was 125dB for change. whistle

So well done everyone for making it such a success.

It was great for me to put a face to your forum name(I realised who you were from your forum name on the top of your engine!). Plus I really enjoyed seeing your car in real life too. thumbup

You don't live all that far from me either. smile
