Just a little heads up.

The next meeting at York is the 3/4th May.
I will be entering the 'Hotrod' challenge but if anybdy wants to come along on either day to try and improve their times or techniques then the usual RWYB classes will be open.

TVRs generally run in 'D' class, ie over 1800cc without nitrous or turbos and generally do well if not getting a trophy for best in class.
I used to run in 'T' class because of the nitrous and often came 2nd.

It shouldnt be as busy as Easter weekend was so you should get plenty of tracktime...
See you there,
Derek

bump
Weathers looking dry for this Sunday and Monday.
So if you are at a loose end then why not come to York either to give your car a few blasts up the strip or to support a fellow TVR owner.
Wish me luck as im up against some seriously fast cars in the 'Hotrod Challenge'

Good Luck Derek. Afraid i can't make the trip even though it sounds a good one.

Going for under 12 seconds?
You taken your camera and mount?

Cheers Dan
my nitrous system feels like its giving a bigger kick now ive made a few upgrades.
Weather and track permitting should see that 11 ive been chasing.
Should see a sub 4 to 60 also.
Will be taking the camera and hope to get some different angles this time

Rockingham Sunday - spectating. Hopefully York Monday, if weather is kind.

Good luck anyway.
If I can't run I'll come and cheer you on.

Good luck Derek, I hope you do get in to the 11s like you have been looking for, I'm sure you will. Sorry I won't be there, Rockingham and Thoresby will put a stop to being there, let us know how you go on.

A great day on Sunday and even the weather was kind.
As predicted it was not as busy as Easter and i got 12 runs in the day.
3 qualifying runs for Sportsman, 2 for Hotrod and 7 testing.
The good news was a few personal records wer broken....
I hit 0-60 mph in 3.95 seconds on 1 run then missed 4th gear to run 12.23.. (that could have been the 11!!!furious)
The last run of the day i hit the 1/8 mile in 7.94 and the 1/4 in 12.17 @ 116.85 mph biggrin
The car now hits 100 mph in 9 seconds flat.

I feel the cars capable of running an 11 now but the track wasnt at its best and after a wet night was much worse on Monday.
I got knocked out of the second round of Sportsman but got to the final of Hotrod which was rained off at the end of the day so awarded a joint win.
See here for more details on the results...

Some pics and some interesting sideway clips of my opponents to follow shortly...

Well done Derek, the car has an 11 in it somewhere and I'm sure you will find it one day.

The next meeting is this weekend 4th/5th at York.
I never had my new tyres ready last time but they will be tested this weekend.
Also ive discovered my nitrous system has been limited to 100 bhp so hopefully i should have more power and much more traction (weather permitting) so it should be an interesting weekend wink.
