A few recent-ish ones that come to mind...

A Star is Born

Lady Gaga comes up on stage and sings Shallow with Bradley Cooper in front of a big audience for the first time. Gave me goosebumps.

Avengers: Endgame

On your left.

Parasite

I won't spoil it, but comical moment when the old housemaid is doing something odd and you have no idea why. I was laughing in the cinema at that very moment, then you realise why she has just done what she has done and the story takes a massive turn and laughter turns to shock. Beautifully done, what a film.

The brief shot of the sweet wrapper uncrinkling itself when placed on the counter of the gas station in 'No Country for Old Men'.

When Ripley gets into the escape module towards the end of Alien, and she’s in a tiny T-shirt and briefs, and there’s a sizeable amount of bush sprouting from the sides of the frontal triangle of soft white cotton. Oh mamma.

I hope I don't have to name the film:

"Let's go."
"Why not."

On a different note, the bit in Sound of Music where Julie Andrews walks on stage to rescue Christopher Plummer's faltering performance of Edelweiss.

On any Sunday

The bit with Steve McQueen, Mert Lawwill and Malcom Smith riding from the grass on to the dirt track.

“there’s something about going riding with your friends. A feeling of freedom, a feeling of joy that really can’t be put into words. It can only be fully shared by someone who’s done it”.

LOve that. The loading scene is the best one (I've seen COmmando)

It's not that you give your word, it's who you give it to

In 'Get Carter' when Glenda gives Jack Carter a ride in the Sunbeam Tiger, Roy Budd's score fits it perfectly, also the scene where Glenda is in the bath oblivious to what comes next - Carter almost drowns her.

Harrold Shand's short 'f**k you' speech to the yanks and the look on his face as he's driven away by the IRA geezers at the end of 'The Long Good Friday'.

During the opening car chase in 'Robbery' there's a moment where Barry Foster looks away from the camera with a particular expression on his face in the back of the Jag which somehow adds to the tension... the entire sequence is brilliantly done...

In the Jesse James film when the dudes are in the woods getting ready to do a heist with sacks over their faces - the lights go past and the shadows track across them.

Scenes in The Revenant with the fires and torches, naturally captured. Stunning.

The end of Back to the Future when Marty sees Doc get shot for the 2nd time by the Libyan terrorists and seeing him grieving while Doc calmly gets up revealing he wore a bullet proof vest and tells Marty that he put the letter back together and took the necessary precautions.

I think Back to the Future is a near-perfect film. It's just joyful and brilliant.

At the end of BTTF III - where the train lifts into the air, turns and moves then does a 180 and then speeds into the camera. Another great piece of cinematography.

Boys of a certain age will remember that stirring in the trouser area, but there is no bush or spider's legs, a complete figment of imagination.
I just checked, unless there is a director's cut where Siggy had a hairier floop.

Are you sure?

And she does it again in Aliens.

A quick top ten:

The Iron Giant closing his eyes uttering “Soooper-maannn”

Wonder Woman leading the charge from the allied trenches across no man’s land.

Caesar in the first Planet of the Apes film: “Noooo!”

Kirk’s eulogy in Wrath of Khan. “his was the most ... human

Secret Life of Walter Mitty: the reveal of what the quintessence is.

Thomas Crown (remake): the Met being overrun by bowler hatted men (esp with Sinnerman as the soundtrack).

Toy Story: Buzz on Bullseye catching Woody’s hat on the runway.

Molly’s Game: the opening mogul run scene.

Leon: walking toward the light, thinking he’s about to see Matilda again.

And inevitably: All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain. Time ... to die.
