Truman Show - "In case I don't see ya.... good afternoon good evening and goodnight" right before he steps through that final door.

The Last of the Mohicans - The look of disgust and almost sorrow on the face of Chingachgook before he strikes Magua for the final time (In fact it's more than 5 seconds but the whole build up to that moment is stunning)

The Game http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119174/

The part when they are on the roof and Micheal Douglas shoots Sean Penn with the "real" gun, and then jumps to his "death"

was such a brilliant ending, I almost wanted to erase it from my memory to experience again!

The part in Leon where he goes to sleep in his chair, fully dressed, shades on, loaded gun at the ready. No words spoken, but it gives you a huge insight into Leon's life.

+1 for the Road to Perdition scene - incredible atmosphere captured, one of my all time favorite films.

Leon (again) - the scene where Leon and Matilda play musical charades ending with him chasing her with the water sprayer. And also when he breaks the ice with the pig oven glove. Both showed Leon's maternal human side perfectly.

Terminator 2 - Arnie goes on a massive shooting spree to the classic theme song. <HUMAN CASUALTIES......0> No problemo.

Shawshank - I know a lot of people won't agree with me, but I really love the hollywood ending where the two friends are reunited and embrace on the beach. Wonderful way to wrap up a truly epic film.

The very final scene in Heat (I won't spoil it for those that haven't seen it). Inspired music choice using Moby's 'God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters'

Opening credits from Bladerunner with vangelis' track over the top.
The very two scenes that popped into my head when I saw the thread title.

One more that raises goosebumps is the bit in Manhunter where Will Graham realises "you've seen these films".

Great responses guys, keep them coming.

And remember you can use the Spoiler button liberally if you don't want to ruin a moment.

smile

I'm throwing in:

The moment in Pulp Fiction when John Travolta's character accidentally shoots young Marvin in the face in the back of their car, totally out of the blue and wonderfully comic yet brutal. In a way that only Tarantino can do.

.....

followed about 10 minutes later (hey it's my thread I'm having two moments) by the immortal line "Let's not start sucking each others dicks quite yet....." from Harvey Keitel.

Take the first 5 seconds, then the next, and the next, until you have the film from start to finish, and that is another.
One of the finest films of the 80s. I like the bit at the end. Where Steve relives the adventures in his head and somehow, still not sure how figures out that John is widowed and goes back to make sure his new best most annoying mate has a decent holiday for once. Tears there
A very similar moment when Jack Walsh at the end of Midnight Run (one of the other great 80s comedies/buddy movies) is called back by Grodin and their friendship/adventure is cemented and ended right there

Also when George Bailey places his hands into his pocket and finds Zu-Zu's petals and understands he is alive and has a daughter again...then runs through Bedford Falls...magical.

The last scene in Dances With Wolves, just the sound of the wolf howling and the imagery and knowing that you aren't just seeing the end of the film but also the end of a way of life.

+1s for the Blade Runner, Shawshank, Heat, Fight Club and Seven scenes already mentioned.

Unforgiven directed by Clint Eastwood

William Munny played by Clint as he is about to exit the bar having killed the sheriff and his deputies.

"All right, I'm coming out. Any man I see out there I'm gonna kill him. Any son of a bh takes a shot at me, I'm not only going to kill him, I'm going to kill his wife and all his friends and burn his damn house down. (He stands and walks cautiously out of the bar) Nobody better shoot".

You know he has been forced to become the killer he used to be.

I love the scene directly preceding that.
Especially the dialogue where he admits who he is, and the camera zooms in on himbiggrin

There are so so many....but the scene in Josey Wales when those two dirtbags are trying to rape that girl, and they turn on him...'wurl, if it isn't Mr. Grease light'nin himself...wurl Mr. light'nin, twitch a finger, move a muscle and I'll spread you like molasses in summertime (or somethingbiggrin)
Also when being asked about burying two other dirtbags...'to hell with them fellas, buzzards gotta eat'.
Or when talking to Ten Bears, 'I'm just giving you life and your giving me life...'...magicbiggrin

Goodfellas - Henry crosses the road from his girlfriends house to the lad over the road who has abused her and repeatedly hits him with the butt of a handgun and threatens his mates.
