Top 5 film right there.
What film/moment is it?

A bit leftfield and not as iconic a movie but the scene from Sideways where the Saab crashes into the tree. I actually let out an audible "wooh".

The scene from Dead Man's Shoes where they go to the farm to confront him, things go wrong and Paddy stretches his arms out, axe in hand. A great insight into the mindset of a fearless man who truly had lost it. Menacing.

The quick mirror glance from the bad guy in Bullitt when he realises Steve McQueen is now following him. Does a double take and the iconic chase scene kicks in.

Many of Michael Mann's films make for visually stunning cinema - Thief, Manhunter, Heat, Last of the Mohicans, Collateral.

Yeah Manhunter had some beautifully-lit scenes from what I recall.

John Wayne as Rooster Cogburn in True Grit

Squaring up to the four baddies across the plain

Ned Pepper : What's your intention? Do you think one on four is a dogfall?
Rooster Cogburn : I mean to kill you in one minute, Ned. Or see you hanged in Fort Smith at Judge Parker's convenience. Which'll it be?
Ned Pepper : I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man.
Rooster Cogburn : Fill your hand, you son of a bh!

Then charging at each other jousting style, guns a blazing with Wayne reloading his Winchester single handed, reins in teeth.

Sends a shiver up my spine just thinking about it

Thanks, I think I've only seen that once and a very long time ago, may have to re-visit.

I watched it the other day to trial my new A/V speakers and it is still fantastic - doesn't seem to have dated as much as other 90s stuff.

Haven't read thru the thread, so apologies if posted before, but the first time I saw this, Planet of the Apes, and Charlton Heston realising he's actually back on Earth.

What about Clint cracking out the tiny music box at the climax of Three Mules For Sister Mary.

Just been watching a yt vid and it reminded of another moment in the endgame fight. Similar to the Pegasus saving the Galactica, when THanos ship starts firing into the sky and you think, 'wth!' and then CM bursts onto the screen, that was electric.

Clint has a musical watch at the end of For A Few Dollars More. Is that what you're thinking of?

Yup - got quite a lot wrong there!
Let me try again...

What about the scene where Clint gets the musical watch out at the end of For A Few Dollars More.

The Colonel, Clint and Indio. Assisted by Ennio Morricone and a watch.

Not forgetting Sergio Leone.
