There are so so many....but the scene in Josey Wales when those two dirtbags are trying to rape that girl, and they turn on him...'wurl, if it isn't Mr. Grease light'nin himself...wurl Mr. light'nin, twitch a finger, move a muscle and I'll spread you like molasses in summertime (or somethingbiggrin)
Also when being asked about burying two other dirtbags...'to hell with them fellas, buzzards gotta eat'.
Or when talking to Ten Bears, 'I'm just giving you life and your giving me life...'...magicbiggrin
- Nothin' like a good piece of hickory.

Downfall, when the pretty German Hitler Youth recruit orders her friend to shoot heras the Russians overrun the place. One of my favourite movies ever.

The first Rocky where after all the training montages, etc, he goes back to Adrian & confesses he doesn't have a chance in hell of winning but doesn't care so long as he knows he at least might have been someone once. His rant at Mickey was pretty good, too.

Bubba Hotep- the walk down the Heroes Hallway and near the end at the death of a president.

The whole ending of American Beauty on the day he dies. And the cheerleader scene.

Groundhog Day when he can't save the tramp.

Not a film, but in Babylon 5, when Londo is forgiven by G'Kar before becoming Emperor, recieving everything he had ever craved as a young man but now knowing full that it is completely without value and that he is a forsaken man with the weight of a planet on his shoulders and billions dead on his conscience. One of my favourite characters in fiction. He recieves his forgiveness, apologises as much as he can without betraying the truth and then steps out knowingly into infamy and damnation.

Sheridans attack on Zha'Dum was epic, too.

"Meet the Brachiosaurs" scene from Jurassic Park as the camera pans round to reveal the first dinosaur.

I was 8/9 when I saw this at the cinema and It still makes me well up watching it now! Amazing.

Next one is far longer than 5 seconds but I'm sticking it in anyway because it's stunning.

The scene from "300" where Leonidas kills and keeps killing:

And I'm going to get hammered for this one, but the bit where Rafiki lifts Simba up in the opening scene of The Lion King heheboxedin

The bit in Kick-Ass where Hit Girl kills Raul or whatever his name is...

The music mixed with the extreme violence and the C word from a 10yr old girl is stirred to perfection. I can't help but smile and weep at the same time hehe

Oh, yeah- and Charlie Chaplin's speech in the Great Dictator. Awesome idealistic speech. I particularly like this modern fettled version:

Risky business.

'Are you ready for me..... Ralph'

Rebecca De Mornay slinking into the room in the half-back-light lifting up one leg, and the unzipping of that blue dress to the orgasmic Tangerine music.

There's a scene in The Elephant Man, I think its when Anthony Hopkins' character first sees John Merrick, the camera zooms on on AH's face as a tear rolls down his cheek. Perfect timing.

The bit in Hook - when Peter finally remembers to fly again.

The Jurrasic Park one posted above is a good one - I also saw it at the cinema as one of my first "blockbusters"

Shawshak as mentioned earlier.

Excellant thread.

Jaws - I think you'll need a bigger boat

Matrix - the foyer scene

Zulu - the zulu's chanting banging their shields, and the noise building and building...would have been terrifying

You reputation has diminished. You only have yourself to blame for this.

Not quite 5-seconds, but absolutely fantastic!

The bullet-time helipad scene was probably the most iconic scene in the film. It changed the future of cinema.

Good Will Hunting:

Sean: It's not your fault.
Will: [Will's eyes open, misty already] Don't fk with me Sean. Not you.
Sean: It's not your fault.
[Will shoves Sean back, and then, hands trembling, buries his face in his hands.]

I'm going the big rubbery...

Ooooohh good one.

Same film - Sean & Will talking in the park - again not quite 5 seconds but a bloody good scene.

So if I asked you about art, you'd probably give me the skinny on every art book ever written. Michelangelo, you know a lot about him. Life's work, political aspirations, him and the pope, sexual orientations, the whole works, right? But I'll bet you can't tell me what it smells like in the Sistine Chapel. You've never actually stood there and looked up at that beautiful ceiling; seen that. If I ask you about women, you'd probably give me a syllabus about your personal favorites. You may have even been laid a few times. But you can't tell me what it feels like to wake up next to a woman and feel truly happy. You're a tough kid. And I'd ask you about war, you'd probably throw Shakespeare at me, right, "once more unto the breach dear friends." But you've never been near one. You've never held your best friend's head in your lap, watch him gasp his last breath looking to you for help. I'd ask you about love, you'd probably quote me a sonnet. But you've never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. Known someone that could level you with her eyes, feeling like God put an angel on earth just for you. Who could rescue you from the depths of hell. And you wouldn't know what it's like to be her angel, to have that love for her, be there forever, through anything, through cancer. And you wouldn't know about sleeping sitting up in the hospital room for two months, holding her hand, because the doctors could see in your eyes, that the terms "visiting hours" don't apply to you. You don't know about real loss, 'cause it only occurs when you've loved something more than you love yourself. And I doubt you've ever dared to love anybody that much. And look at you... I don't see an intelligent, confident man... I see a cocky, scared stless kid. But you're a genius Will. No one denies that. No one could possibly understand the depths of you. But you presume to know everything about me because you saw a painting of mine, and you ripped my fking life apart.

Maybe slightly longer than 5 seconds...

Ice Cold in Alex - sitting at the bar staring at the glasses of beer they've just ordered.

Apollo 13 - coming out of radio silence after re-entry.

The Truman Show - the yacht hitting the wall and a short time later as he walks through the door.

So many more.

Unforgiven directed by Clint Eastwood

William Munny played by Clint as he is about to exit the bar having killed the sheriff and his deputies.
"You just shot an unarmed man."
"Well he should have armed himself before he decorated his saloon with my friend."

I also love the little "You'd better clear out of there" to the guys standing behind the man he's going to shoot.

"Yes sir!" hehe

All the Clint Eastwood spaghetti western moments have reminded me of one of my other favourite scenes and the inspiration for my name on here

The final scene in High Plains Drifter where he rides off into the heat haze and slowly fades from existence.
