The producers love the Brits. So far we've had Damian Lewis, David Harewood, Rupert Friend, Linus Roache, Jake Weber and now James D'Arcy. All playing Americans. Have I missed anyone?
I haven't been cast in it.

Yet.
Linus Roache, Jake Weber - these two were a surprise!

It's quite an epidemic at the moment, Brits playing the big American characters over in the US at the moment.

From another massive show The Walking Dead: Andrew Lincoln as 'Rick Grimes'.

Don't forget Hugh Laurie as 'House'.

Is there a big shortage of Americans to play Americans?

Too many good British actors, not enough good British roles?

Alan Cumming gets a lot of work here also, always playing an American. Then there's Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex) and the aforementioned David Harewood plays Americans more often than he does Brits. Damian Lewis also stars as an American in Billions too.

Back in the day we had Sean Connery as a Russian sub commander with a Scottish Accent and a New York Irish cop with a Scottish accent and an Egyptian immortal with a Scottish accent. Very versatile chap.

The Australian cast as the guy with the camera at the hospital probably isn't there because of his ability to appear as an Australian either.

Without spoiling anything for me past episode 2, has it gotten any better after Carrie talking to the ransomware?

Yes Patrick episode 4 was good stuff, worth watching.
I may be in a minority here, but I find Claire Danes's portrayal of bipolar disorder very convincing. No idea how realistic it is, but it seems very well acted to me - in fact it's much better than when she's trying to be "normal".
Is there any point, really, in Frannie?

Carrie will go totally batst mental anyway, irrespective of being a mother.

Having a child seems to be incredibly irritating, annoying, and inconvenient for her.

Hospital scene was great, wasn’t sure what the bloke sneaking on was gonna do, bomb, gun? End ups taking a photo which turned out to be way more dangerous... great TV, loved it.
