We shot on the Sony NEX FS100 - wonderful camera if mounted on sticks but a pain in the backside if you're trying to do it all handheld, there's no servo zoom so everything is a fiddly as can be. Having said that the images that come out of it are incredible! Very filmic, some of the fight sequences we shot in the underground tunnels are quite frankly epic, all credit to our D.O.P and Camera Op for those!

So, a little update then...

The last couple of weeks have proven to be quite busy on the work front, somehow I seem to be writing a speech at the moment for a President of a large country that isnt America, not sure how that came about but still, it seems to have slowed down work on Chronicles... There are other things that have slowed down progress too. Namely, Final Cut Pro X. Billed as the future of editing software it is to editing what K series engines are to the future of Formula 1. Countless people will argue this point but and I will agree that is has it's plus points, it's quite quick etc but if you ever need to share the project with anyone else you'd have more succes asking Vanessa Feltz for Healthy Eating advice... I know because I started working in this program and was forced by everyone else I was working with to do it all over again in a different version of the same program! It's fine... Not annoying at all...

But anywho I am now moving on to the rough edit of Episode 3. Episode 1 left me feeling a little lost if I'm honest, as while I know I'm only doing a rough edit - there is a lot of post production work to be done on Ep1 - so upon finishing it on my end it looked a little way off what I'd hoped for. Episode 2 on the other hand is a different matter. I've literally just finished and watched it back with my wife she actually laughed! Possibly more than once, but it was probably wind the third time.... Joking aside a lot of the gags work, the look of the thing is good and I can see where the improvements need to be made. We've also got a cracking love song in ep2 entitled - 'You Remind Me of a Car', DB9Mark knows all about that!

So I can move into the next week feeling quite positive! I'm actually looking forward to editing ep3. I'll try to upload some screen grabs as I go!

Crikey, ep 3 already! How many episodes are scheduled? I'm sure you will feel a lot better about it when the post production work starts to get done.

Only 3 episodes scheduled, but hopefully more in the future. They are only 15 minutes each mind, I'm not that good!

Never use it, I use Adobe Premiere Pro for all my edits.

I have to say I'm really looking forward to this, it looks gloriously eccentric!

Thanks guys, very kind of you! Gloriously eccentric is probably the best phrase I've heard about this project so far! It's fair to say it does get a bit bizarre at times - especially the Love Song... "You Remind Me Of A Car".

Premiere Vs FCP - FCP is my choice only because of the speed of the Mac Ive got it on - though I have now downgraded to FCP 7 and done away with X

Its like Dr Who, if they had no money, loads of enthusiasm and people who actually enjoyed what they are doing! Great to see 1 or 2 other people I know from other walks of life in the Kickstarter credits. Good on ya!

Hopefully this doesn't break any PH rules,

The Pilot episode has been picked up by one of the Local TV Channels, Big Centre TV (Midlands) but they have requested a title sponsor for it.

If anyone knows of anyone who may be interested in having a ten second advert appearing 6 times during the duration of the 40 minute episode then get in touch. It's not as expensive as you might think! Potential reach of around 2.3 million though realistic is probably closer to 80,000.

Yorkshire Tea springs to mind. They seem to be not averse to taking a bit of a risk on something interesting and independent. Would work well with the content, and might be open to a tie-in with promotional work possibly.
