It's very good. Best Superhero show on TV, no spandex, almost Bourne meets Batman.

Just a bump...

22:00 C5 & C5HD tonight.

Really looking forward to this. Deliberately not read too much about it, but the ingredients are all there - Jonathan Nolan, JJ Abrams, both responsible for some very good stuff (thinking more Super 8 and Star Trek for Abrams, rather than Lost, which started well but quickly turned into "just making st up as it went along"). Got a lot of time for Jim Caviezel also.

Received well in the US, and got good reviews on IMDB.

Gotta give it a chance, methinks...

1st 15 mins really a scene setter - unshaven drunk/bum Jim Caviezel defends himself against a gang of "wannabe gangstas" on the train, dishing out a good deal of controlled violence- these are the same guys he stole the guns from later in the episode. They're all lifted by plod, and he's released to rich guy's lawyers.
A little bit of a back-story: female detective runs his prints and finds they're present at numerous international "crime scenes" (alluding to a past of government wet-work). In the wake of 9/11, Rich guy developed an all-seeing machine to predict terrorist activity, with a filtered list of minor events which he accesses via a back-door - and it's saving folks on this list that's his driving force now. Should bring you up to speed!
There are episode guides aplenty on the Internet - not read any, but I'm sure they'll have given a tighter synopsis than I!

Dear All,

watched half of it then went to bed. Other half to complete on video.

They've been reading Lee Childs' Jack Reacher books. Somewhat formulaic but it's a good formula,

regards,
Jet

Hmm.

I like Person of Interest and will continue watching it, but it's not really a great show.

The premise is so weak, I feel like episodes hang on a thread, perhaps it's the geek in me looking at the plot holes continually.

Also Michael Emmerson is just not gelling in this role. His limp/neck stiffness/thingy is like a half-arsed Kaiser Soze and that annoys me. I also cannot get his legendary performance as Ben Linus in Lost out of my mind. He was just so hateful in that, and by that I mean his performance was so good I actually felt real hatred to the character, in this role as a good-guy I cannot buy it.

Caviezel is putting up a good show as the battle-hardened, ex-special forces good guy, but he's too close to a Jason Bourne character, and here's his problem too: Matt Damon did it better.

I know TV serials are the new film blockbusters, and JJ Abrahams clearly still has a semi on for Mike Emmerson, but I'm not sure........

Also, now I think about it, the all-seeing-computer-snooping-on-everyone has been done before in The Dark Knight (amoungst many others I'm sure)

Loving The Wire box set more than PoI at the mo.

Youre kind of saying a lot of the stuff i thought for the first few episodes, but it's a real grower. I think the moment i started to really like it was when i remembered it was a series, with all that entails and stopped comparing it to filums (a compliment in itself).
