I will just have to comfort myself with some of Amy Acker's modelling work.

Anyone see the last ever episode tonight?
Brilliant series, how it ended in the back Waters of 5usa is beyond me.
Going to miss it, but I only clicked with it in season 3 so I'm now working my way through the box sets on 1&2

The ending was suitably epic but I can't help feel that if Abrams and Nolan hadn't popped off to Westworld it would have been a bit more developed.
Very good stuff, very sad but ultimately logical.
With the discovery a few episodes back that they weren't the only team machine a spin off is possible and hasn't been ruled out.

Genuinely the best thing I've seen on TV in over a decade !

I really miss this series. It is good it went out on a high (if you can call it that!) but I really did enjoy it, the characters were brilliant, the plots were crazy but made sense.

It is rare I rewatch a whole show from the start but I can see me doing so with this one in the future!

Oooof - Got dusty in here with John on the roof!

Think the ending was 'expected' in the main and probably the 'right' one.

Definitely sounds like they're paving the way for a Shaw spin-off.

It has been a great, great show. Never got the attention it deserved IMHO.

It will be missed on our TV, at home!

I thought it was a pretty reasonable ending tbh given how the show was cancelled and they were only given a 1/2 series to wrap it all up.

Having Amy Acker back, but portraying the machine in a physical sense in the scenes with John & Finch on the rooftops worked well, especially when explaining how and why John ended up doing what he did for a living with the flashback scene.

The one thing I thought worked well was there was no stupid, dragged out "epic computer fight" CGI, etc, which they could have done. It was just simply brought to a close after the missile strike and then jumped forward a week to close out the various characters & background accordingly.

I had a feeling, moving into the last 15 minutes, that what happened with Shaw & The Machine would be the likely outcome for them and I wasn't wrong. It seemed the most sensible way of closing them out especially after the "reboot" and what is technically now Machine 2.0 starting from scratch and learning from history, etc.

Nice ending for Finch too.

Just a shame, for those of us that had already bought the first 4 series on DVD and would like to complete the collection, it would appear that no UK Region 2 is planned at this stage, so it looks like i'll be importing the Region1 from the USA/Canada instead.

We have been massive fans of the show since the first episode, our cats are called Reese and Shaw, we sure will miss it.

This was the best ending of series 4.

The outcome for Reese did seem a little off. Knowing what was at stake and his expertise with weaponry I'd have thought he'd have engaged the Samaritan Agents with a bag full of firearms - but ultimately it all made sense, especially in view of Harold's warning in the pilot episode.

The whole of season five being told retrospectively was a typical Nolanism and a very enjoyable one as Root's opening message wasn't Root at all.

When I watched the last episode I went back and started again from the beginning and it was amazing how much I'd missed the first time around:

Check out why Harold nearly always used Bird names as aliases and the significance of that to the plot.
All the reasons why the Library was so intrinsic to the entire story line on so many levels.

A friend whose far more perceptive than me noted the books that Harold reads in various scenes throughout the show - they're not as I thought just random books but if you research the title their story lines refer either to the theme of the episode or the theme of the show as a whole.

Harold invented Facebook.

My own highlight is the closing of season one:

https://youtu.be/l5R3kGZN1GU?t=69

A perfectly written, presented, scored and acted three minute piece of television that resolves much of the series with hardly any dialogue;

Absolute genius !
