I've been watching some of the older "new" episodes on my newly acquired Virgin On Demand box. Very enjoyable it is too.

However they don't have any of the more recent Matt Smith episodes on there which is a shame. Thing is I've suddenly realised I can't really remember what happened at the end of the last series! Be nice to catch up for Saturday! Anyone know an easy place to watch them?

Or alternatively, anyone remember what actually happened?

It was on BBC3 in July. The Series Started with the Doctor being killed on a beach in Utah by a Spacesuit. Then Re-appearing as he had "summoned Himself" to a cafe Rory, Amy and River had retreated to.

It Finished with Him being "killed" on the same beach, but not before showing River (who was in the Spacesuit), That the "Doctor" was in the Tessalator, a Spaceship that could look like any person it touched. Hence althougth the "Doctor" was "killed" and they thought they were burning his body he merely was a little warm. The last Scene saw the head of Dorium being delivered back to it's resting place by the "Doctor" Asking the Question that will be asked at the "Fall of the eleventh on the fields of Trenzador" and must never be answered.

Doctor WHO?.

Cheers, I remember the River Song stuff but I couldn't remember the little end clip, so everyone thinks he's dead now?

While they've answered the "the Pandorica will open" bit and I presume the "Silence will fall bit" refers to The Silence aliens, did they have sort out what all the cracks in the universe were about?

Who caused the Tardis to explode is still open to question. SM keeps hinting at a solution but that hasn't happened yet. "Silence will fall" was expanded to "The Silence will fall when the question is asked". The question being "Doctor Who?"

Got ya, cheers.

He's obviously not going to stay "dead" long though is he if ALL of the Daleks find him in the first episode! hehe

Didn't they say they were going to pension off the Darlecks? My Son will be bursting at the seams when I show him this later!
The bronze Daleks were going to be replaced by the colourful Power Rangers Daleks, but they proved to be unpopular and so are rumoured to now be an "officer class" in charge of the bronze ones.

Incidentally, the first episode, Asylum of the Daleks, features every previous model of Dalek that the Doctor has ever encountered, including the old 1960's versions and the Special Weapons Dalek from 1988's "Remembrance of the Daleks". biggrin
I rewatched "Remembrance of the Daleks" yesterday. Trying to avoid Sylvester McCoy and 'Ace' rolleyes

It would be interesting if they do include this as an idea and also the idea of differing faction groups of Daleks. Maybe this will explain the 'Fisher Price' onces we have seen lately?
Spoiler??

Following this thread. It appears that its a Parliament of the Daleks.
If this is the case then perhaps I am right in saying that there are factions. and then it would explain the different shapes and sizes?

Or maybe I am over thinking things hehe

Wasn't bad, quite liked it, though I do like Dalek storylines

Like Oswen or whatever her name is, hopefully the new companion once they get her out of the Dalek.

Intriguing.

Not a bad episode but surely more interesting and most interesting, the Doctors next companion is a Dalek? Future version of her? Earlier version of her? Odd.

Plus the Daleks don't remember him which opens up all sorts of possibilities. Although its amazing how they keep coming back given they were supposed to be wiped out in the Time War.

I liked that one a lot. It will be interesting to see how they go now that the Dalek memory of the Doctor has been wiped, and how the companion comes back from being a Dalek.

Eggs, eggs, eggs...terr... hehe

As she was a genius she could have done a "emergency temporal shift" as used at the battle of Canary Wharf.

She was human inside the Dalek body that we saw, so perhaps she is still in there.

Add some wibbly wobbly timey whimey stuff.

It was OK. I think Cowen died a death on the exploding planet, however.

Anyway, onto more important things... 'Dinosaurs on a spaceship'.

Which makes its so interesting. We know she's going to be a future companion, this series, so either she escaped somehow and the Doctor will have a companion who knows what it's like to be a Dalek OR he'll have a companion that he knows will be turned into one at some point.

Unless she too transported up to the ship, and is the only one who knows who the Doctor is?

Yep. One complaint. My five year old loves Dr. Who, doesn't really get any of it, but that's beside the point.

Dr. Who is designed to be mildly thrilling for grown ups & to make children wide eyed, so please BBC, schedule it at 6:20pm so my little girl can watch it. Not after her bedtime. Thanks v. much the Cyder family.

Another potential long-running storyline - how Dalekified is Amy and was the Doctor Dalekified at all?

That why I think she will become one of Dr who hardest enemy when she works out she is a darlek ! Great episode I prefer the late showing time so they can make them more darker plots.

Sadly, there will be no "getting her out" of the dalek body where Oswin is concerned. A total conversion means her human body has been mutated into the tentacled blob mass similar to the Dalek in the glass tube.

She resolutely refused to believe that she was anything but a human and the whole control room setup/kitchen was in her mind, so the asylum was probably a befitting place for her. A bit derivative of the film Source Code IMHO smile
