Another thing they failed to mention about the IVA test is that most people remove all the bks required to pass it as soon as they get home! Although I understand why.
Yep, did you notice it had a bloody great ugly rectangular rear foglamp during the test, which disappeared afterwards?

Fabulous looking car though.

I thought that the guy who sold Mike the car was brave as his engineering skills were going to be on display for the world to see. It looked like he did a really good job of putting the car together.

I'd quite like to know the back story behind the car, he'd quite obviously spent and lot of time and money building the car, the quality of the interior showed that, so why not finish it?

Also, if it hadn't passed IVA where did the number plate come from and how did he do 800 miles in it?

Very odd...

Does anyone know when this will be repeated (episode 1, not the usual guff about "you forgot the cost of labour and tools blah blah")?

MOTORING: Wheeler Dealers

Cobra.
Mike finds an unregistered Cobra with just 1000 miles on the clock, but it must pass tough emissions tests to make it legal. Can Edd get the car back on the road?

Caught up with it last night.

Really enjoyed that one, agree the wheel thing was a bit pointless and certainly wouldn't have added as much value to the car as it cost, but 35 mins of Edd cocking about getting an engine to pass and IVA wouldn't have been so interesting to watch.

Glad to see the show has returned to more of the original format, less Mike traveling the states or driving home from France and more garage time.

Will Edd's leaning of the mixture by changing the jets be safe for the engine in the long term?

A nice car, but I could see what they were going to do from mike reading the advert (lean the engine for the test and chuck a couple of cats on) I wouldn't have bothered with the wheel/suspension mod myself.

Surely the filming for the test drive took place after mike had bought the car though. No one would let you do doughnuts on a test-drive!!!!
Or he could've done some of the filming once the car was bought....

Talk over on the cobra forums is that brewer blew the original engine on the test drive hence being 6.2 in the original ad to 5.7 in the new ad. Overal a very poor episode why don't they do something similar to the bettle to beach buggy thing they done in the 3rd series?

I am getting bored of wheeler dealers now, it was a very poor attempt of a 'show' this week, the car was out of most peoples budgets for a start and the 'test drive' was total bobbins, it must have been filmed after the car was bought as anybody testing my cars like that would have got a swift kick in the jewels

The whole 'making a profit' part of the show should be scrapped, its getting a bit cringeworthy now, look at the latest trailer for it rolleyes

Why they don't just concentrate on rescuing/refurbing ropy/edgy cars and giving them a new lease of life?

I know it's just an entertainment program but even the missus has commented on things like new tyres being fitted but not put in the final budget, I do hope it improves for the next few episodes.

Perhaps it was running lean? After passing the IVA, I would have restored the original jets and exhaust.

How strange that the PH ad states that a new crate motor was fitted by Brewer yet the show, which I watched with my OH & son, only showed Edd changing the jets? (I also thought that he should have pointed out that the lean jets should be temporary to avoid damage to the engine afterwards)
