Evans can't be all bad, he said this morning that he'd been at Goodwood (I think) this weekend and had bought the Dunlop bridge from Brands Hatch in the auction. laugh.

I know he's got his haters but to me he seems to have come through his meglomaniac phase of 10 years ago and become more comfortable in his own skin and a better , more fun, person for it.
He's a big fan of Goodwood and often has Lord March on his show. He also organises the Car Fest shows as well. http://www.carfest.org/ The Dunlop Bridge was from Donington.

Children in Need week gets interesting when he auctions a weekend where you get to drive each one of his Ferraris. Raises silly money for the charity and is great radio listening to the bids coming in.

Scott Mills this morning, never was a fan of Moyles but he had his good moments. The thought of listening to Nick Grimshaw in a morning has absolutely no interest at all to me, not a fan of Greg James either.

I voted before reading the OP because I like pressing the buttons to see which funny message I get (it was the remapped/rolling-road one) so readers though henceforth subtract one vote from Radio Four to get a true result. I've never been a Moyles fan, he's too shouty and never seemed to play any music whenever I listened in.

I can handle ferrari and like JObrien most of the time, but 90% of the callers to that station need their head repeatedly smashed against a wall.

I listened to the cacophonous roar of my cars plastic interior sounding like its collapsing around me. Happily it is roughly equivalent to the noises R1 play, only you don't have to listen to grimshaw or James or whoever he is.

Even got the SPL app out today.. 72dBA going no further than 40 mph. Pretty loud for that speed!

Try earplugs and/or ear defenders. It surprised me how they cut the background mechanical, tyre and wind noise but still allow you to listen to the radio when I had a very loud car. Think setting off parked car alarms loud.

Got in car, turned on Radio 1, realised it was Scott Mills, went to iPod and found Pantera, drove to work in happiness.

Spot on the money, I'm sure to switch off when any Woman presenter comes on too.

Mills, I still think he's good.....

I'll give floppy haired skinny jeans freak a week when he starts on Monday and if he's as dull as normal, probably Kiss or Radio Mediocrity...... frown

I listened to Radio 1 this morning.

I say listened as it was just more a background noise of song after song and a little announcing of said songs inbetween from Scott Mills.

A far cry from his usual morning cover work and even further from what he gets up to in the afternoon.

I'm not Scotts biggest fan but do find his usual stuff entertaining. The show this morning was beyond poor. noticed 3 songs in a row with only him announcing the time inbetween one of them. Is this what is to become of the breakfast show? Music, news and a "personality" saying the odd word to tie the lot together?

What a total waste of air time. I could have switched to any other commercial station and heard much the same.

Really? What time was that?

I tuned into R1 about 8:50am yesterday morning, and he was doing some "drama" about one of his friends recounting his life as a child - whilst Scott and Becky butt in with "funny" comments. I turned off when Becky interrupted to point out that she found the phrase "trout farm" to be funny. Banal ste.

Between 7:50 & 8:20 ish. Must have heard atleast 6 songs in that time. Not one of them being even remotely memorable...

Moyles it would have been 1? If that biggrin
