Our Kev is going to do some graft and build an Oak-framed mobile cabin using recycled materials. I hope we will not be inundated with 'the green message'.

Repeated on Wednesday on 4seven.

I wonder how much input Kevin is going to have in this, as he hasn't exactly excelled at anything yet.

Oh and, love the 'Mini'.

Well, 'twas a good start and a good build so far, even though it has taken six months.
Question being, will Kev blow the budget? wink

Thought it was really interesting. Very cool little mini, the shingle roof looked brilliant. Loved the big curved beams from that leaning oak and impressed the got it down without it splitting badly, never seen a tree with such a lean on it.

I'd love to try their technique for splitting big logs, seemed to work ok though obviously lost a bit of wood that taking it to a local mill wouldn't have.

Liked the lamp too though not sure I'd ever want to light that thing in a wooden building, didn't look enitrely controlled...hehe

Totally agree all comments so far, love the mini but the diesel lap was silly.

OK he cheated on the insulation and waterproofing membrane, love the idea of shed with view!

I believe the Mini is owned by Will Trickett, a boatbuilder by profession and former contestant on Scrapheap Challenge. Not seen him for nearly 30 years, when I worked with his father. Some people are just born engineers I guess.

Sydney is class, mad as a box of frogs - did a course run by him some years ago and he took great delight blowing up a car with half a bin bag full of ANFO then got us to be his guinea pigs for his latest Wilf Lunn gadgets. Fire in the hole, and never run from a burning fuse...
