Yeah, I cringed at that too, considering a set is about £15.
Yeah but its not meant to be educational is it, its produced as an entertainment show. Someone, somewhere, thought it was funnier for them to do whatever they did in that way, rather than using the correct tool for the job which they inevitably have at their disposal.

That Russell comes across as a proper brown nose and he adds nothing to the show.
I'm actually warming to Russell. I like the fact that he's happy to pitch in with the mechanics and make himself useful where he can. He doesn't have Richard's arrogance and hands-off approach, and seems to be a bridge between Richard and the mechanics. I don't mind him. dom9 said:

maybe not to work for though - I seem to recall that AK whilst not slating RR wasn't exactly complementary
And vice versa - RR has talked about AK, whilst not slating him, quite negatively - I think in his autobiography?I'm sure there are legitimate annoyances on both sides, probably not least down to AK wanting to take his time and also go off piste whilst RR wants the well-trodden path, done fast & cheap. There was probably always that tension there, and it came to breaking point.
Just guesswork and supposition though. I have no evidence whatsoever.

I wondered if they were setting up a new Bass Kustom series.
I'd rather just watch the Bass stuff on Youtube....much better, and Brian builds cars for customers, not TV ratings. I'm surprised he stayed involved in GMG beyond being guest builder of the blue '34 coupe, for fear of damaging his reputation!Clockwork Cupcake said:

Have you noticed though how the mechanics have to guide him: "Russell, lift there"....."Russell, don't touch that bit"......"Russell, mind that"....etc.He just gets in the way and I sense that he's not being written into the show and so is just trying to get himself seen.

Well, yeah. He's not a mechanic. Although he seems competent with the fork lift. He just gets in the way and I sense that he's not being written into the show and so is just trying to get himself seen.
I just thought that it's nice that he doesn't mind helping where he can.
Now, whether that is genuine, scripted, or him just trying to be seen on camera, I cannot say. But I just thought it was kinda nice that's all.

I can't seem to find the new / last season on Sky? Is it under a special title?
Watched an ep from the first (I think) season yesterday and Brian Bass was in it. It was the Willis gasser episode.
I like Thomas Weeks from Fired Up Garage, always enjoy the back and forth between him and Richard.

Just shows how different we all are because I can't stand him. He comes across to me like a weaselly little whiney man who tries too hard and just doesn't have Richard Rawlings charisma and screen presence. The overall impression is of a wannabe. (I don't dislike him personally - I have never met him)

That was before Brian was 'officially' in the show, he just bought the Willys off of RR. That episode was quite a while ago, maybe 4 years ago? before Brian got involved in building the blue '34 coupe, and that was back in 2017!BrabusMog said:
