On Discovery, Wednesdays at 9pm (now).

Anyone on here watch it?

Im got right into it now.

For people that haven't seen it, its like an American version of Wheeler Dealers but with hot rods.

They buy them, tune them (make them fast & loud) and then take them to auction.

The work they do is incredible.

'64 Impala on there tonight.

Really ? all I ever see him do is stick interiors in cars and paint them flat black and lose money at auction.

a '64 Impala is not a hot rod, cool car, but not a hot rod.

I really enjoy it, its better than any other show of that sort on tele.

I suppose you are right with the Impala, maybe "hot rod" was the wrong choice of words from me?

Yes, I watch it and enjoy it.
There is some cracking beards in that show as well, it's how you define entertainment in fact.

I'm poking the hornets nest with that, cos some bright spark will come along and say "what is a hot rod then?", the term means all sorts of different things to different people, there is no firm definition.. so my post should of had "imho" at the end!

To be honest he's doing simple stuff and trying to bang stuff out for a profit. I did laugh when he got hold of a 40s coupe, it was an off brand (pontiac maybe?) and he was chirping on about keeping it original as much as possible etc.. 2 minutes later they claim the engine is knackered without even opening it up and just bang a SBC in it! Hang on, what happened to originality!

Look for stuff by rad rides (their projects gallery is awesome, if you can get it to work). Bobby Alloway, Roy Brizio, kindigit design, johnsons hot rod shop.. there are loads more..

Seen a few and find it quite entertaining, good sense of humour and some nice(ish) cars.

Richard (main guy, smaller beard) is a strange one though, the snorting tequila episode especially.

Yeah - watch it every week. Some of the episodes are better than others. Think my favourite vehicle is the Gas Monkey pick up......

Yeah it was a good profit.
As RR says, it's all a gamble, and this one paid off.
If you convert that into £ notes I'd say that wasn't a bad price all considered.
Great car imo... and tv that I actually look forward to!.
The build-off with OCC & Jesse James should be good.

Great program - it's about the only thing I make a point of watching at the moment.

There's talent there, and genuine banter. An hour watching those two flys by.

I too like the show. Their cars are fairly mainstream, but then that's no bad thing as it makes them 'cheap' compared to some fancy perfectly restored or over-customised as per other shows.

Most thing on F&L are desirable unlike the nasty stuff featured on (for example) "Inside West Coast Customs"

I'd like to see the build of that Fire Truck/Bike Hauler from last night's show, but I guess it doesn't fit in the Quick-Flip storylines of this show.

I like it.

It doesnt take itself too seriously and I like the fact that he takes a tumble financially every so often and its not potrayed as the end of the world. A lot less contrived as the others and a decent amount of mechanicing too.

compare this to the classic car rescue poo that we are served up on this side of the pond and its positively oscar standard !

The Rambler was good but ruined by the wheels they put on it.

ETA: ok maybe not ruined, but those wheels did nothing for me.

I have to agree with you on the wheels, I think they could have found something better if they had more time to source them.

I'd have liked some rusted steelies on there if possible. It would have made an awesome sleeper.

Been a few threads on this, bloody brilliant show IMO.

They don't take themselves too seriously, and it's not as made staged as some other similar shows.

Also on last nights episode it showed RR when he and a mate did the world record gumball US run

I've seen the first series already and thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to the second season as they are involved in a 4 way biker build off with OCC, PJD and Jesse James new outfit.

In the last Jesse James episode, he sent the Fast n Loud guys a truck full of horse st and dumped it outside their workshop!
