The last 5 mins lost me a bit, will try another episode tonight.
It's a bit like Preacher or Legion, where to a casual viewer it really isn't obvious what's going on. Needs the Amazon info plus side reading to understand it. Some bits like the ID of Mr Wednesday are really obvious and clues dropped but other stuff much less so. As for the last 5 minutes I guess you mean the bit where Shadow had a run in with Internet (one of the New Gods) who decided to have his minions kill him, and then he was rescued - I assume by Mr Wednesday
I thought the 'Lucy'/'Media' bit in the store was very nicely done, looked proper and creatively handled.
Don't worry if you don't get it straight away, it'll become clearer. I loved the Anansi opening episode 2.
I read Anansi Boy's before I read American Gods, it was my first Gaiman book (well, apart from Good Omen's w/ Pratchett) and was a random choice so I didn't know they were connected, until I started reading American Gods. I kicked myself a bit when I worked it out!
Gaiman and Pratchett play with "belief" quite well, Small God's by Pratchett is good (far from my favourite DW), but nothing beats Billbous, the God of hangovers from Hogfather

Watched Ep2 last night, great opener! Had me laughing at the use of MF on an old boat.)
Understanding it a bit more now, although the GF has lost interest.
That black chick is a bit freaky!
