I loved the book, but thought episode 1 was a bit meh. It was done well, just didn't grip me like I was hoping it would. Will still be watching ep2 though.

I've watched the first two and it's safe to say that it's pretty surreal... I will watch the third and see where it goes as I'm not 100% convinced by this...

I watched ep1 last night, very good! That opening scene was horrific.

The last 5 mins lost me a bit, will try another episode tonight.

Good cast too.

It's a bit like Preacher or Legion, where to a casual viewer it really isn't obvious what's going on. Needs the Amazon info plus side reading to understand it. Some bits like the ID of Mr Wednesday are really obvious and clues dropped but other stuff much less so.

As for the last 5 minutes I guess you mean the bit where Shadow had a run in with Internet (one of the New Gods) who decided to have his minions kill him, and then he was rescued - I assume by Mr Wednesday

I thought the 'Lucy'/'Media' bit in the store was very nicely done, looked proper and creatively handled.

Don't worry if you don't get it straight away, it'll become clearer. I loved the Anansi opening episode 2.

I read Anansi Boy's before I read American Gods, it was my first Gaiman book (well, apart from Good Omen's w/ Pratchett) and was a random choice so I didn't know they were connected, until I started reading American Gods. I kicked myself a bit when I worked it out!

Gaiman and Pratchett play with "belief" quite well, Small God's by Pratchett is good (far from my favourite DW), but nothing beats Billbous, the God of hangovers from Hogfather smile

Watched Ep2 last night, great opener! Had me laughing at the use of MF on an old boat.

Understanding it a bit more now, although the GF has lost interest.

That black chick is a bit freaky!

Yes, I wasn't best pleased that the scene of which you speak was displayed on my 60" tv in full view of people walking past my house. You've never seen someone grab for the remote so fast.

The same reason you saw that old dude get jiggy with the lass on episode 1.

Gawds work in mysterious ways.

Yes enjoyed that.

Extra points for having someone kicked in the balls so hard their entire spine came out though the top of their head.

I really like this, don't have a clue what is going on but it's pretty good! The OH keeps glancing up whilst I'm watching and catching the, shall we say, weirder, parts of it. Say's I watch some very strange stuff hehe
